Tallahassee,FL forecast discussion 10/21/2012
short term(tonight-Wed afternoon)
Today a ridge dominates the area bringing clear skies and cool weather. Highs reached the upper 70s and are expected to remain in this area for the next few days. Tonight a low around 48F can be expected with the clear-mostly clear skies. Tomorrow a high around 80F can be expected. There will be some cloud cover in the area but mainly higher level clouds since the current ridge is dominating the area. Winds should peak early afternoon around 7-10kts. Monday night lows are expected to be around 55F or a few degrees lower considering that there will be clear-mostly clear skies in the area. Wednesday highs are predicted to be around 82F but if there is more cloud cover in the area then these temperatures will not be as high. The cloud cover predicted for this time frame will be partly cloudy.
Long term(Wed night-sun)
Currently the models(NAM & GFS) are currently in agreement with the high pressure ridge dominating the area for the the majority of next week. This will bring pleasant fall temperatures with clear-mostly clear skies with mild afternoons and cool mornings. During the next weekend the GFS model takes into account the tropical disturbance in the Caribbean(currently at 14.6N) to be in the Atlantic at this time but until the models come into agreement and this disturbance will need to be watched closely.
