Winter Storm Warning

At 1400 local time a Winter Storm Warning is still in effect. The latest models look like DC will get about 6 inches of snow total. There is just too much warm air that will filter in the area as the storm gains strength. Therefore, I guess 6 inches of snow at DCA. Happy WinterStorm PAX!!!

As of 0945 there is mostly rain with a bit of sleet falling in the Rosslyn/Courthouse area. The temp is holding at 37 degrees. I doubt there will be a change over to pure snow before the moisture departs the area.

We in the lovely National Capital Region (NCR) await the next winter system. I am predicting that the warmth in the upper levels of the atmosphere will prevent much accumulation of ice and/or snow in the Clarendon area. I will update the situation at 0730 when I wake up. Be safe.
