This years solar eclipse has come and gone and made for quite a spectacular show. The Eclipse started around 530 local time and ended around sunset at 730. I engineered a cheap way to view the event by putting three sets of sunglasses together which I'm not fully sure wheather to consider safe or just dumb. In other news the second tropical depression of the year in the EPAC (East Pacific) has formed. I expect it to slowely travel to the NE generally paralell to the Mexican Coastline. It should become Bud by tomorrow afternoon or evening. I'm giveing it a 70% chance of being a hurricane sometime in its life as several of the models have hinted at. I'll have another update when/ if Bud forms.

The 2012 East Pacific and Atlantic Hurricane Seasons have begun! Today TS Alberto formed and just a few hours later roared to 60 MPH and had a pressure drop from 1009 to 995. At this time Alberto has been strugleing with his structure and the center of circulation has been hard to find. Alberto, in my opinion will survive tonight and during Dmin strengthen to a strong tropical storm by morning (70 MPH). In the East Pacific; Aletta, who has been hanging on to Tropica...
