Romania has many churches, the most beautiful churches from the Europe. The most known region are Maramures and Bucovina.
But here, in Constanta we have an unique church in this region, black wooden church-Saint Mina, with her uncommon architecture.

This church was built between 1995 and 1997 in authentical Maramures style (see Church from Maramures - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wooden_Churches_of_Maramure%C5%9F ) by a carpenter team from Maramures, managed by chief Gavrila Hotiev. At the beginning, the architect was Nicolae Goga. After his death he was substitute with Niels Aumer.

The Sf. Mina Church is the most high wooden church of the country ( 28 yd lengh, 13 yd width, and the tower has 48 yd heigh). The interior furniture is completely made of wood and it’s realised by architect Daniel Sabau from Alba Iulia.

Some of this church have been listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1999, for their religious architecture and timber construction traditions.

Irina

That's modern construction? Awesome!
You have some stellar crafts people in Romania.

The famous wooden churches of the region Maramures were built during the 17th and 18th centuries. Saint Mina Church isn't a modern construction. The architecture is respectful of the age tradition.
