....pray for the families, and the community. Hold your children close.
Four years is a long time. I no longer have 27 windows. We moved nearly two years ago after my Dad died. Only three of us left, as my other children left the nest. So, it seemed like a good time to downsize. We are happy here =) I am still a non-smoker. I have chilled out considerably. My oldest daughter is married. My youngest son was diagnosed with Aspergers (Autism Spectrum), but he is doing well. Hope all of you are well, and having a lovely December.
OMG !! Good to see ya .Have missed you 27windows ..I Hope you are keeping well since last time we spoke , the photos were beautiful . I have no idea what your little man was . but he always looks adoreable .

Hope everyone is well on this day of remembrance. I heard someone say we are losing 1500 WWII veterens every day. I don't know if that is accurate, but I think we all realize we are losing them. Bless them.
@Skye, you are right on with the focusing thing! If it interests him, he is like a sponge!

Helloooooooooooooo! Welcome back. Great to see you. Downsizing can have its advantages for sure. I have changed so much in house sizes during my 23 years in the military and now civil service it is rdiculous. From tiny apartments to large houses!

Wowie Zowie! Sweet to see your blog again after all these years. Why just the other day I remarked to another blogger here... "I wish (edit) 27 was back on the blogs." So happy to hear your news. Sorry for the loss of your Dad. And what an adorable tornado you had on Halloween. Haha If tornadoes can be adorable.
I see you are still in Texas. Welcome back and best wishes from a neighbor across Red River. :)

Yes, I am still in Texas, just a smaller section of it. Not tiny, but somewhere between a shotgun shack and a mansion =D haha.
The tornado was surprisingly easy to make. The fun part was finding just the right debris. It's hard to see, but there is a tractor, a fuel tanker, a girl carrying a basket of eggs, a cow, and Ford Pinto, among other bits of twigs and dirt.
Waiting on the cold front today, and hoping for some thunderstorm action!
How about those Houston Texans??? 11-1! Whoooo Hooooo!

Our cold snap has officially ended. Sure is easier to get in the holiday spirit when it's cold. Rain is coming in, and hopefully we will get another good cold front =)

We have downsized too this year, the last one left for college (guess where she went, lol). We are looking for the simple life.
My heart aches for the families in CT. My neighbor just moved here from Newtown and all the kids went to that school, and the grandson is in kindergarten there now. He is ok, but they are devastated. My daughter that is a teacher is so upset she can't even talk about it. Such an unthinkable tragedy.
I will join you in prayers for those families. God bless.

Gator- I don't know how to wrap my brain around this horrible tragedy, and all we can do is pray. Thanks =)
Downsizing has been a blessing;several blessings really. I thought leaving the house would be hard, but so many of my memories involved my Dad, and that is also where he fell and broke his neck, which led to his dying. I was happy to leave that behind.

Friday, when I picked Howie up from school, there were three police officers present. I assume just to put people at ease. Howie is home from school today with tummy troubles. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the events in Ct., as I did not go into a big discussion with him about it. I thought talking about it too much would frighten him.
I am interested to know if anyone else has fears about sending their children to school. And how your children are dealing with it.
I still am having a problem even believing this horrid thing happened.

Theres probably not a parent in the country, who is nervous about sending their kids to school this morning. How can you not.As with 911 took away our security going to work each day,the high school shootings took away our feeling of security for our older kids, and now we don't even have that sense of security for our little ones, but I guess we all try to get back to some sense of normalcy, but it will take time.

NEwxguy, you pretty much summed it up. I recall feeling much the same when the Columbine shooting occurred. I had children closer to that age at the time.
As it turns out, Howie had some tummy issues yesterday and stayed home from school. I did not expose him to all the media coverage over the weekend, yet he did come to me and tell me a lot of kids died. Whether his tummy trouble was due to stress, I don't know. He is off to school this morning, and I do feel some fear, but I trust God is in control, whatever the situation.
