Multiple tornado warnings and severe T-Storm Warnings are out for the Mobile AL area as a nasty round of severe thunderstorms is pounding the area and moving into the Florida Panhandle where a tornado watch is in effect. This same tornadic squall lines have caused wind damage in Louisiana just hours ago and now continue to move Eastward. By about 3 or 4 AM, this could be approaching the Lake City/FL Big Bend area and then towards Jacksonville after sunrise. What are the impacts? Probably no devastating major twisters but some isolated decent tornadoes, strong damaging winds and large hail so those of you there need to be on the look-out if you're anywhere in North Florida. Some of the showers and thunderstorms may impact Central/South Florida, even those may turn out to be severe and you better keep that in mind--strong gusty winds, decent hail and the chance of a brief weak tornado or two should not be ruled out even as far South as Boca Raton/Fort Lauderdale area if those storms do pack the punch like it might tomorrow afternoon. But for now Alabama...the Western Florida Panhandle...Georgia are currently being impacted and later tonight should spread out to the Panama City-Tallahassee area, Jacksonville and so on.
