Hello WCF, WOW how nice to see you. Can you believe I actually put up a blog. Now I'm wondering if it will attract or repel Sandy/Athena.
Before this tropical stuff came up to plate, we had been enjoying the lead up to the series, our teams being the Orioles the Nats and the Yankees (hubby you know...whatever...). Exciting post-season.
NOW we get to jump up and down for San Fran Cis Co!!!!

Hoping Sandy stays away from all. I like the name, "Sandy." Doesn't sound very threatening... Will be a shame if one with this beachy name does turn nasty.

Thanks Carolina Fina. You know I'm not really enjoying this. Not sure what to do. Maybe I'll come visit you since my usual escapes to the North and inland do not seem to be the correct course for this one!

Hello, North and South Carolinians. You can always retreat to the middle.
This visible looks like some clouds at least would be shoeing up by now. The sea. Wind, don't kid yourself, can be spread out. Don't worry so much where storm Sandy Franken's no-longer-existent eye is/was.

And, ECF, stock up on Petite Sirah. :)

Does it start raining when the Greek God sings? ;)
Good to see you my gals!
Power goes and comes back, still gusty winds, but almost over for us. Temps will drop to low 50's at night now with the cold front coming. I so love putting a sweater on after a long hot summer! I can imagine sub running around 'nikked' soon, he loves cold...

Thinking about you, Huri. I just saw a bit of footage from NC and saw you're getting some rain bands. I'm sure there's going to be some coastal erosion and so on - I'm just not up to speed with this one because I'm traveling.
Thanks for the links - that will help for quick check ins! Be well!

Still raining here on the VA/NC border but heavy rains have not been a problem. Highest wind gust last hr about 30. Door is still being blown against the latch occasionally. Low tide today was what a normal high tide would be. Flooding in usual areas, yet more severe. Waiting for winds to shift to NW. Very concerned about my friends in NY and points north

Checking on you. I'm seeing considerable flooding in your links.... and on some other stations that I can info from as well (which are more southern than your links.) Take care... and definitely thinking of all in the path.

Good night, ECF. Hope you sleep well and hope everyone one to the north does okay. Some homes won't do okay, and some trees won't, and there will be floods and a blizzard, but I hope all people stay safe and that things don't get too scary. It's just such a big storm with a lot of energy in it.

Huri, I might have missed wishing you Merry Christmas but I'm making it up with a New Year's greeting.
We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential.

I am so glad neither of you have to await or ride out the storm alone.
