I totally agree!!!! I do NOT like the new format one bit! NO color, Boring Boring Boring! I like my favorites off to the side or at least where I can view all of them at once! You have to scroll now. I like to instantly be able to see what the weather is like where my loved ones are and some of my favorite places to visit are.

Yes, bantamchick, these are all my reasons too -- for preferring the classic site. . If the WU people are sensitive to our wishes, they will give us a direct link from our email alerts to our local page on the classic site--mine is zip code 07866. . Please read this at WU and help us -- we are not nobodies!
Wunderground, with all due respect and appreciation, please don't go the light entertainment route with this (up to now) great site. It has been such a pleasure to open to the maps and point the cursor wherever I want to go and see the weather there. THAT IS THE WHOLE FUN. Sure, I love the webcam and photos, but that's AFTER the fact. So, if the new page is kept, please make that new page the secondary one!
I like the new lighter feel but dislike the layout. As mentioned before, having the favorites in the left column is necessary (for me) as is having the week ahead visible.
I use a netbook (short screen) often -- the new layout requires a lot of scrolling to get to items I can see at a glance with Classic Wunderground.
On Yahoo, at least I can change the layout to my preferences (given a the limitations of their 3-column layout).

You took my $10 bucks and then you took away my classic. I work out doors and have counted on your web site for several years. I guess I'll have to go somewhere else and learn a new site.

Just cause admin removed the http://classic.wunderground.com from the header doesn't mean Classic is gone...it just means you might have to type a little (or God forbid any of you change your link to http://classic.wunderground.com...that would be too easy and you would have a reason to gripe!

This article says it all. We have been sold out. After a month of trying to like the redesign, I saw few redeeming qualities. My complaints are the same as others here. Please read this article for some insight into what is really going on here:
Here is one more-it isn't hard to find negative comments about the redesign-this link is for the American Weather Forum. http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php?/topic/1225 7-wunderground-redesign/

I agree! I have been using WU for years as I travel quite a bit. The new format is not user friendly and all the cities I have to travel through are no longer at the left side of my screen for easy access. Please bring back the old format! "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

I absolutely dislike the new site - sorry guys, but I think you got this wrong. It's slower to load, less clear, it is a boring site to look at. I've been part of WU for many years under different emails and pay my $10 because I love the (now called) classic site for it's quick information - now it's just a mess. I hope you listen to what we have to say, because if the classic site goes away I don't think I'll be recommending the site or use it anymore - it's too cumbersome and doesn't work well with lower powered netbooks either. I have recommended this site numerous times to coworkers for inclement weather and this change is not a good one. I work in IT and can appreciate the effort that went into redesigning the site, but I feel this was not to the benefit of Wunderground. I would implore you to consider redesigning it with the old site in mind, since that is what brought your members here in the first place.
I agree. Keep classic.wunderground. The new layout requires too much scrolling to see the information I use most often. With classic.wunderground, when I log on, BAM! There's everything I use all on ONE SCREEN: recent (my favorite) cities along the left, the US map in the center showing country-wide weather/fronts and the tabs for other info, and Dr. Master's blog in the lower right. When I click on one of my cities, BAM! All the info I want on ONE SCREEN: temp., radar, 5-day, and today/tonight's weather. I also like the access of having the search and menu bar across the top (as in both formats).
What i hate most is some of the weatherstation links for my city seem to have disappeared. Why would I be able to link to the station downtown on the classic site, but it doesn't even appear as an option on the "new" site. I happen to know that the weather is still taken at the city hall in my little hometown! the only issue I have is it locks up everytime I try to click on a link on the page in the classic view. What's with the constant locking?

Add me to the list! I have several bookmarks for the places in classic I use everyday. Good thing, too, because links to the classic site seem to be missing from the "new & Improved" site.

I really am in support of change if change is good and necessary, but I just can't get used to the new format. I have been using and promoting wunderground for years, and I used to be able to click in, get the scoop and be done with it, but now it seems designed to cater to the masses, not the people who really want to know what the weather forecast calls for. I have been frustrated with things like the new squared box zoom on the radar. It was simpler and more intuitive before. The new look is fine, but the features are lacking up front. It is too spread out. Maybe designed for wide format screens or something. I was happy to find the classic link. I will go back to the original. I hope they keep supporting it.
QUESTIONS! Why didn't y'all ask your customers/users if they wanted/needed the "improovments"? Are there any live people there who care what customers/users want/need?
