We have made the annual transition from winter to spring here on the Lil Amnicon. 70° temperatures and sunshine are very nice to see. In recent few weeks we have gone into the spring temps; again so very nice.

Just last week for Wisconsin fishing opener we had cold, overcast days, with light rain and cold nights. Mpls has already been in full spring for a few weeks which is the expected 3 week difference in the spring entry.

Well we finally had our first big snow fall for the winter. US 2/53 in East End of Superior WI was closed for a while as was I35 south from Duluth to Pine City MN. The snow was moving along by hefty winds which caused a good amount of drifting. And it was not easy moving the wet snow laden with water. March came in like a lion this year!

This winters entry has been quite mild! I suspect so far we have had one of the most mild winters on record. December was low on snow and high on temps. While it is not unheard of to have sub-zero temperatures around Christmas this year it was warm and just a little south of the Twin Ports little snow could be found. January 3 brings the first below zero weather for the year but we may be above freezing by the weekend. This leaves me feeling a bit sorry for al...

We have had some great weather lately. Seems the jet stream has formed a big omega over the area and resulted in very nice weather with warm days, clear sky and cool nights. Finally we are starting to dry out after a rather wet summer.
