February Morning

It is 12 below right now. We got about 6 inches of snow yesterday, blowing around badly in the morning, creating drifts and low visibilty. But by 3 pm, it was sunny, covered with fluffy snow, and COLD.
Even so, I know the seeds are starting to sprout in the earth. I know that this snow is going to melt and become moisture to nourish those seeds. And I hope this cold helps kill off the pine beetles we have had devastating losses from.
The days are getting longer, and that tells the story. Spring is preparing to make an entrance.

The bark beetles have devastated so much of the west's pine trees. With some consistent cold it should control them. You have a beautiful state you are lucky to live there. We try to go up to the Yaak and Libby area every year. Stay warm!!

How wonderful you get to the Yaak! There are many Montanans who don't make it there. Been there once,
looking forward to going back. Truly wilderness!
