As I previously mentioned, the NWS has issued a Freeze Watch for us for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. I would not be surprised if they issue another one for Wednesday night. A strong cold front will move through the area mid-Tuesday dropping temps 20-30 degrees by evening. Wednesday's high temp will be in the mid 40s, maybe close to 50 for some. Tuesday and Wednesday overnight low temps will be in the low 30s.
TIMING: Rain will start from the SW and move NE from late evening through the overnight hours, lasting through Tuesday night.
PRECIP TYPE: Rain will be the precip type, but there is a slight chance for wet snow to mix in with the rain late Tuesday in areas N and W of Baltimore. If you see snow there will be no accumulation.
THREATS: Wind is the main threat, with gusts increasing into Tuesday evening into the 20s mph. Thunderstorms are possible Tuesday morning before noon. Wind damage is the main threat, with the more severe storms S and E of I-95.
I will have another update Tuesday as conditions warrant. Follow me on Twitter (@wxmanmd) for daily weather tidbits and updates.
