In regard to the possible storm there is not much to say different from what I have been posting these past couple days. The scenario is what we have seen in the past two coastal storms, namely, high pressure to our north blocking the low pressure along the coast from moving too far north. Timing and position of the low are the issues, and currently the low looks to be out to sea.
It is way too early for certainty, but looking around Wed into Fri I think the low along the coast will take a similar path as did the most recent storm. If that is true, in Central and S MD we would see some rain and gusty wind. Nothing at all like Sandy and little threat of snow. Maybe scattered flakes and possible sleet, but nothing exciting.
If the low tracks closer and the high blocks the low further south than we could be looking at heavy rains and strong winds, but at this point I don't see that scenario panning out.
Once the low forms and begins to move up the coast I will be in a better position to make statements with certainty. I will have another update sometime Saturday. Follow me on Twitter (@wxmanmd) for weather updates and tidbits of weather info.
