Central MD Weather Conditions

rainfall totals

As of the 27th, I have recorded 5.01" of rain, with 1.73" falling yesterday. If you are in Central MD and keep rainfall amounts please let me know your totals.

finally rain

Finally Central MD is receiving much needed rain. It won't end the drought, but will definately help! As of 6:30 this morning I have recorded 1.03" in my yard.

storm pics from Chicago

Well, I have to leave the State Maryland on business to find severe weather. I am in Chicago and we are under a Tornado Watch and Severe Thunderstorm Warning.

I just uploaded a couple photos I took of a storm traveling over my hotel balcony towards Chicago to the East.

It appears most of the severe weather here will miss me, not by much, but seems to be more East of me. But I do have a good view ...

rain for Central MD ?

As a cold front from the W moves through the area later today there is a chance for rain and thunderstorms. The storms will not be very organized; more scattered, primarily in Northern MD. Conditions are good for rain and some storm development, but due to shear and other factors we will not see very powerful storms. Rainfall will not be impressive, but at this point I will take any liquid that falls from the sky.

drought in MD

The latest drought map for MD has been issued and it doesn't look good - about half the State, the Southern half, is now in a Severe drought. We really need some rain (or a couple blizzards this Winter).
