There hasn't been an update since then, so I figure they're all off partying! LOL! Actually, Ally's Mommy was waiting for the docs to call back with the rest of the news. That will probably include dates for her treatments in NYC.
Nice pics Listener. I went out with my daughter to enjoy the Harvest Moon. Warm but a little cloudy, still fun though.
Seems like a return to summer for the beginning of Fall especially after the cool weather of late! Down to 37F here last Tuesday.
You're welcome! Here's today's (from Ally's Mom) ~
Thursday, September 23, 2010 9:53 AM, EDT
Surprise, surprise, the NYC office never called me back. So, I called them.
It looks like we are on for 3f8 treatment the week of October 4th. Mommy will be going with Ally, and possibly a special guest will be going with us.
There are about 4 million little details to go along with going to NYC. The biggest of which is scans. Ally gets scans about every 3 months. These include: MIBG, CT, Quad Bone Marrows, and a 4 hour urine. Ally's home oncologists are away at a conference this week, so she is only getting the MIBG and CT. The folks down in NYC are particular about having ALL the scans completed. So, I am now waiting for another call back about those. The urine shouldn't be a problem. I am hoping we can just do that one of the 3f8 days (since we are there for over 4 hours anyway). The Bone Marrow is going to be the tricky one. Even if we went down the Friday before they would not have results for the following week. So, we are hoping that as long as her scans are clear on Friday, they will be able to hold the bone marrow until Columbus Day (and hopefully that is a working holiday). There are about 3,999,999 other little things we have to do, but the urine and bone marrow may mess things up. Please pray that the NYC team will be flexible and empathetic, and that things will work out well. Also we need big prayers for clear scans, the 3f8 treatment means nothing if those scans are not clear!!!
I will be sure to update again when we hear scan results (which may not be until next Monday).

New York called back!
It turns out we will have to stay from October 4th into the next week. They are going to schedule a quad bone marrow and a 4 hour urine test on Columbus Day. Every time we have just one (or two) things like this we try to leave in the afternoon. EVERY time it stresses us out....so we are just going to wait to book a train home for Tuesday, October 12. We are going to think of it as a mini vacation. Auntie Lynn (the special guest) and I are going to bring Ally out to see some of the City over the weekend and we will enjoy not being rushed at the end of our journey.
Please pray for tomorrow.
Ally doesn't have her scans until 2:45, which means no eating after 8:00 in the morning. Pray that her tummy doesn't hurt too much, that Daddy will be able to keep her calm, and that the scans are clear!
PS Grammy and Grampa said Ally did a great job at the hospital today.
The trees were 98% green a week ago.
In just a few days, at the Equinox, the trees have gained about 20% more colour! (How did they know? LOL!) It's happening early and fast this year, but the colours seem vibrant.
It's easy to tell that Ally's folks are beginning to feel the stress of tomorrow's landmark scans and the big wait over the weekend for the results. These scans will tell whether there are any cancer cells in Ally's body presently. If there are, it's NOT good, as she has been clear the last two times she's had scans. If there no cancer cells, it's fabulous news and her 3f8 treatments may proceed. The treatments will help ensure Ally's remission continues. We are very hopeful, yet cherish your good vibes, prayers and shared hopes. %u2661
The idea that will help Ally most is now #2 !! It needs to STAY THERE!!! (or go to # 1!)

Thanks, Inyo. Which storm are they watching regarding this? I don't worry if it's far out* but I also like the chance to be aware. Got link?
* This being the birthday of Jim Hensen, I can't write "far out" without seeing a Muppet saying it as:
"Far out, man!" LOL!
♥ Thanks, original! ♥
I'll keep you posted!
A great big ol' warm front is moving in, from here down to Georgia. A friend of mine in West Virginia has a red flag warning for her area, while we got soaked last night here.
It's a Farewell Summer sort of day.
Speaking of honey bees...We had one this morning walking around by the flowers very sluggishly (despite the warm temps). It paused to take a bath (rubbing each leg) and I wondered if it had something unfortunate stuck to it. It stopped on a brown leaf on the ground and did this little bath, then moved its back end up and down twice, then stopped. It stayed perfectly still for so long I thought it had died and got the camera. But then it started "washing up" again. It has been hanging around in the garden since yesterday and I haven't seen it fly at all. Could it be in trouble, or is this perhaps an end of season or end of life bee? Is there any way to help the bee?
ALLY'S SCANS ARE CLEAR!!!
NO SIGN OF ANY CANCER CELLS!!!
Ally's oncologist was able to see the scans (right after the test was completed)
and called Daddy before they even left the hospital!

Ally's oncologist absolutely rocks for reading her scans immediately like that. Several of the doctors are away right now, so her doctor has extras to do, and she still did it. Awesome.
I'll bet she enjoyed calling Ally's Daddy and telling him the news! :-)
and about the bee if it was biger than a worker it would be a boy bee and thay are getting kiked out of hives this time of year. thay only have one job amd for the most part thay never even get to do that. also drones as thay are called can go in to any hive with out question ware a worker bee ,girl bee can only go in a strange hive if she has a full load Lazzy
I suspect this was a drone because he wasn't terribly interested in working. ;-)
Hey folks, what causes these blotches on the radar? What causes it to show up on radar when there is no precip falling? Thanks
I assume it's moisture that's in the air but not falling. Can someone say for sure?
Our youngest is 28 today and our next youngest turns 30 on Tuesday.
Wow! That was quick! (Labor on the other hand...) LOL!
Short answer, ground clutter. When the radar is in clear air mode, such as when there is no precip in the area, it is more sensitive and subject to showing dust, dirt and bugs.Link
No kidding?! That seems like a glitch that needs some work!
I was thinking it could be virga. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virga
At .65" as of 9:15pm.
Ahhh, thanks Lazzy. We hoped that's "all" it was, rather than him having a problem of some sort.
Also, it looks like Vermont, New York, and a bunch of other areas are going to get NAILED with heavy tropical rain tomorrow. Could be interesting.
