I've been looking at pictures of West Liberty KY and Salyersville, KY. The tornado devastation wrought on these towns is horrible. So sad for these people who have lost their homes and businesses.

beautiful day

Yesterday and today was quite warm, being in the upper 50s and even into the 60s here yesterday. It was cloudy today, but still nice. We had a few drizzles this evening, but not as hard as it rained during the wee hours of the morning today. The wind was blowing in the top of the mountains just at the edge of dusk, but has died down now. Hope everyone had a beautiful day.

Snow was forcast and snow it is. It has snowed all afternoon and has gotten quite heavy on the trees. Hopefully it'll not get cold enough to turn to ice and cause the trees to break. It's not forcast to do that, but sometimes we get surprises. Still, we have snow, on top of the daffodils beginning to peep out of the ground.

Snowing

Today is Jan. 2, 2012 and we have our first snow of this season. It's pretty cold, too, at 28 degrees.As I was driving home, snow was beginning to coat the road and lay on the trees. We shall see how much snow this develops into and how much we get this month.

Unseasonably warm

Has been very warm today, with temps in the 60's and sunny. My dad always said it was a "weather breader" when we had days like this in the months when we should be having cold weather. He was right, we've got rain in the forecast and of course it will cool off. We just buried his brother today and I was glad it wasn't raining today.
