Today's extra task....
I fetched the Kirby attachments out of the cupboard under the stairs, cleaned them, dried them and then returned them to the tray after placing a layer of silica cat litter in the bottom first. I will let you know how it works!

Hope you had a good weekend:)

NEWZFLASH...MAJOR DE-CLUTTERING GOING ON CURRENTLY IN PROPOSED NEW BEDROOM OFFICE AREA!! I had a MELT-DOWN because I had to dig through so much crap to find something and now an area is being de-cluttered as I write this report!...I am supervising this event!!

I still need to saddle soap clean the leather items. Don't have any Dubbin yet (probably will have to order it online from Amazon.) I will be interested to know the results of your experiment! Yes, had a good weekend, thank you. Hope you did too :)

That might be an alternative idea for dehumidifying your closet, Mike. A container of silica gel based kitty litter.

Give it a whirl and see if it works better than the lava rocks.

Love the silver coffee pot.

Yes, since we already buy it, lol...lots of it...three of the kitties like to come onto the lanai and sleep, hangout (two more are curious, oy vey!! lol) One of the cats really wants to be a house cat and that ain't gonna happen!!

And yes, that silver coffee pot is beautiful. Sure beats "Mr Coffee" :-) (and probably hotter too!) There use to be a store in San Francisco (might still be there) that still sold coffee percolators. That coffee was always so hot. Now, you have to nuke the coffee a bit after it drips.

Before Flickr went down for its upgrade this morning (5am my time)....that sunrise photo had had almost 10,000 views with nearly 200 favourites!!

I have never had so many views....the next nearest was the Jay in the pond, and that got about 3 thousand, which seemed a mammoth amount at the time!!

I thought of you and your lava rock the other day. I have a store cupboard under the stairs where I keep the vacuum cleaner and other necessary, but not needed regularly, household items. The Kirby has attachments which I keep in a box in the bottom of the cupboard, but hardly ever use. I needed one of the attachments a few days ago, but when I got out the box I saw they were covered in damp spores...white mildew.
They have never done that before, I couldn't understand it, then I realised why!

When I had Blue, his cat tray (litter tray) was in the cupboard under the stairs, out of the way. Max has his tray in the corner of the conservatory. The litter I used for Blue was based on Silica gel!!
So, not only did the cat litter absorb all aromas, it also absorbed any damp in the cupboard!!!!

Wow, that is a gobsmacking lot of views and favorites!!! Congratulations.

Once again you get my Dublin Silver Coffee Maker Award!!! The prestigious coffee maker of 1770!

I posted a couple of photos to Flickr whilst out having coffee earlier this afternoon,...I doubt you will see them in Explore, lol. I need to find out what the birds were I took the photo of. They wanted a taste of my Lilikoi malasada! The piping hot Ka'u coffee I had with it was gooood tooo!!

Yes, cat litter is also very absorbent.

Cat litter[edit source | editbeta]
Silica gel is also used as cat litter,[7] by itself or in combination with more traditional materials, such as clays including bentonite. It is trackless and virtually odorless. Purchasing silica in the form of cat litter can be an easy and cost effective way for retail consumers to purchase silica gel for use in other applications, such as maintaining the desired relative humidity in humidors, keeping tools or other materials rust-free in damp environments or long-term storage, and preserving dried food.

Just waking up here Bug so not much happening yet other than coffee time and looking out at the world through my computer. I see clouds outside now. The view has been very clear recently (no vog) and have been able to see the "forever" (60 miles) view out over the ocean all the way to the horizon. Good luck to you with your upcoming surgery. And to getting your house organized. *whispering* so Sandi won't hear...I have stalled out on my de-cluttering. Hopefully, I can find a de-cluttering mantra that will help.

Ahem...Oh, Good Morning, Sandi. No tinkling water sound...you will have to listen to your fountain. When is Apple going to get with the programme and play the videos!! I find if I plug the iPad into the tv with the HDMI plug I can see them on the tv. Thank you for letting me enjoy your fountain. My fountain bit the dust awhile back. Miss hearing the tinkling water.

My scroll finger is healing thank you!
I will have to wait until I look at WU on my laptop, as videos don't work on the IPad.

I love the sound if tinkling water..hence I have my fountain in the garden pond!

Thought for the day...

FIRST!

Ah, I got a first!

It's been a while.

How's things shakin' in your neck of the woods today, Mike?

Nice weather here. Warm but the humidity has dropped a bit. It's really too nice out there to be inside but I have things that need to get done.

Got that second surgery scheduled later this month. I really need to get on the ball and get the house cleaned up well. Get rid of some more junk. Stock up the larder.

I'll be glad to get this thing done and over with.

And for Bug, if you are not able to go to the Psych Ward for R&R...
