Journey to Vietnam

Arrived in one piece more or less in Vietnam after 16 hours of flying. Was able to get 6 deep sleep hours after arriving close to midnight local time and was able to get up and running this afternoon to work.

More to come later...it is 8pm here and am going out to eat dinner soon. Saigon/HCMC is amazing! Beep beep, honk honk...reminds me of Bangalore and as hot too. The energy level here is quite intense. Endlessly fascinating.

Fireball

I saw a fireball come in very low, streaking across from the south eastern sky last Saturday night about 6:45 - 7pm time that was amaaazing. Have been trying to see what it was about on internet or news but no luck.

I have never seen something that dramatic, and big and bright, come into the earth's atmosphere like that one the other night. I have seen a lot of meteors but this was very bright white big ball of light, so much so it lit up "the rock", which must have been big to be seen like that, and I could even see the red-orange glow on it. It came streaking across a wide section of the sky and left quite a trail as well. Probably landed out in the ocean.

Earth Quack

Light earthquake with a long shake last evening was felt by many in the Bay Area, including myself. I was sitting in my den in San Francisco watching tv when this unusually long roller rolled through at 8:40pm from the East Bay city of Lafayette.

Magnitude 4.2 - SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CALIFORNIA

For such a light earthquake it went on for what seemed like about 5 seconds or so. I actually got up out of my chair to go get my dog's leash thinking it might keep going and get bigger and then it stopped...the book and record cases were swaying, and the sides of the house. Snowy's ears were up and he was alert to it. Was starting to think of perhaps going out into the backyard, just in case...
