Yesterday turned out to be not as bad as was predicted. We received no freezing rain as the precip began as all snow and quite heavy at that. The first squall that passed was moderate to heavy leaving about 1/4 inch which melted right away. Then a little later, the rain set in and was quite heavy at times. We received 0.49 inches. Around 9 PM, we had some thunder and lightning but that storm passed to our west and we just received a few sprinkles. We lost about 4 inches of snow cover. Wind will be our big issue today and it really picked up about 7 AM. I so hope that we don't lose power.
Right now (9 AM EST), our temp is 34.9°F, the humidity is 54% and winds are from the SSW at 16 mph, gusting to 34 mph. The pressure is 29.42 inches and rising. The dew point is 27°F and the wind chill is 26°F. Yesterday's high was 45°F and the low was 28°F.
Today...Windy. Light snow showers likely after 9 am until 5 pm. Accumulations around an inch. Highs 30 to 34 before noon...With temperatures steady or slowly falling the rest of the day. Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph...With gusts to 45 mph. Chance of snow 80 percent.
Tonight...Windy. Partly cloudy. A chance of light snow showers until 9 pm. Lows 19 to 23. Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph...With gusts to 35 mph...Decreasing to 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 30 percent.
Saturday...Breezy. Mostly sunny. Highs 28 to 32. West winds 15 to 25 mph. Gusts to 30 mph.
