November is a transitional month. When we go from Fall weather, to Winter weather. Often, large and powerful storm systems affect areas of the US during November. These storm systems can deepen quickly, spawn severe weather including a few tornadoes, heavy snow, heavy rain, and powerful synoptic winds. These windy storm systems have given this month's average weather a slogan: "The Gales Of November"
11/15/13 - 10:07PM EST: Warmer air is making it's way into MI tonight into tomorrow. Breezy conditions should prevail. Some rain moves in as well for Saturday with a couple of thunderstorms possible.
Highs could top out in the mid 60s on Sunday with rain likely and possible thunderstorms. Some of which could be strong, or even severe. Especially south of I-96 and even more so south of I-94. Tornadoes are even possible, wind damage appears to be the main threat.
The cold air wraps in behind the system on Monday with rain changing to snow. Any lake effect snow would be likely confined to areas along and west of US 131.
Colder air will rule Tuesday with highs in the 30s and a chance of snow showers.
We clear out for Wednesday and Thursday with highs returning to the 40s.
Another storm system could impact the area late this week into next weekend bringing rain, followed by some snow. More details on that later.
