Weather Underground Forecast for Thursday, August 14, 2014

Tropical cyclone development is not anticipated across the Atlantic Basin on Thursday, while the tropics will ramp up over the eastern Pacific. In the eastern Pacific, an area of low pressure will be located approximately 300 nautical miles south southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico. This system will have a high, 60% chance to develop into a tropical cyclone as it moves westward. Additionally, a cluster of showers and thunderstorms will be located roughly 1,500 nautical miles east southeast of the Big Island of Hawaii. These thunderstorms will have a low, 10% chance to develop into a tropical cyclone as they drift west northwestward. Monsoonal moisture will continue to spread across Mexico. This moisture will aid in producing thunderstorms across the western, central and southern portions of the country. Northeast Mexico will stay mostly clear of precipitation. Mexico City can expect afternoon and evening thunderstorms with a high of 70(F)/ 21(C). Cancun will be mostly sunny with a high of 89(F)/ 31(C).
