A cold frontal boundary will extend southward across central Mexico on Thursday. This system will interact with warm, muggy air from the Gulf of Mexico to produce heavy rain and thunderstorms over southern Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula. Scattered showers will also be possible over central Mexico. Cancun can expect thunderstorms throughout the day with a high of 85(F)/ 29(C), while Mexico City will be partly cloudy with a high of 79(F)/ 26(C). This system will also affect several Central American countries, bringing stormy weather to Guatemala, Belize and El Salvador, as well as stray thunderstorms Honduras and Nicaragua. Storms will also develop across the Gulf of Mexico, which are expected to shift eastward over western Cuba late in the day.
