Since I have been retired I have more time to do some DIY (Do It Yourself) projects So I thought I


would dedicate this blog to the DIY projects!

I started with making my own facial moisturizer and facial scrub. Both were very simple and in the long run will be MUCH cheaper then if I buy it already made.

Desert Watering Hole

The Hike

We have been up to Green Lake many times before. The last time we were in some very deep snow! Made the hike twice as hard, but always worth it to get to the lake and it's amazing scenery. This year I wanted to also go to East Lake, so that made the hike a bit longer, really a lot longer, LOL! So here is the hike in pictures!

We headed up to the Eastern Sierra Nevada to camp in the Minnie for a few days and had the most wonderful time!! We have camped in this area many, many times but never with our pups or in the Minnie.

Sierra Nevada is Spanish and means snowy or snow capped mountains. This range of mountains has the highest peak in the lower 48, Mt. Whitney. We headed up past Mt. Whitney toward the town of Bridgeport and then headed up a dirt road...

A Letter From Hunter S. Thompson

I have always liked Hunter S. Thompson, the creator of Gonzo journalism. Born in 1937 and died at the age of 67, in 2005. At his request at his memorial service his ashes were shot out of a cannon. If you ever saw Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, well that was Hunter, drug user and a big drinker. But he was a terrific writer, and I find this letter to be full of truisms!!!
