Do you have a favotite Acoustic song?? well dont waist any time find it and put it here!!
I'll begin with one of my favorite acoustic guitar players Jorma Kaukonen, from the band Hot Tuna. He accuired fame as lead guitarist for early Jefferson Airplane. Jack Cassady, also from Jefferson Airplane plays bass. They still tour, have been for the past 35 years or so. I saw Hot Tuna three years ago and they still can play good and in time. Jormas voice is a lot weaker though.

Congratulations to the Uconn Woman Huskies Who won the national championship in womans college basketball!!!!!

BT this is my 73 Telecaster.

I have a Gretsch heritage acoustic. It's not an expensive guitar but it plays good and sounds OK. I dont have a pic of it I'll take one and post it here.

Lots of the creeks and rivers are high along the Mill River from Cheshire through Hamden. Also the waters along thr weapawaug river and streams are quite high.
Need some dry weather next week so the streams are lower and ready for opening day for trout fishing.

snow....There was a few snow flurries today that brought back some horrible memories from winter. I started sweating and I broke out in a panic. Than the sun came out and it turned out to be quite a beautiful day.

Hey BT! I don't know if I could save $700 with the little I'm growing, but you are certainly right about the taste. I planted a zuchinni and cilantro plant today, and also some green beans. I'm only using veggies that I can eat right away or freeze. I hope it all does well....keeping fingers crossed - we're still just in the beginning of all this! Please let us know what you decided to plant!

Hey Emmy,
If I could afford it, I would be there in a moments notice. Even if I can't do much to help out. I can always lend moral support. I've learned from personal experience that there is no shortage of people to put a person down just because there refuse to believe that anyone might actually be in need of help. I suspect that these very same people will be the ones to dance on the graves of those who die with there disable bodies and be rejoicing that the one more disabled person is gone from this world.

As for Obama, I suspect that he probably didn't realize what he was saying and that he meant it as a comment about his own inabilities and not as a reflection on the disabled. Either way, he has already apologized for what he said. But you know that there are those who want Obama out and will be dancing on his grave if he fails to get this country back on it's feet. Some times I have to wonder if this country even deserves to get back on it's feet. Maybe it would do us all some good to see what real suffering and hard work are all about.

I have a cousin who could easily join the Special Olympics as she is DS, but we just love her to pieces. She's smart and does things well. I wish people would stop making derogatory remarks about these loved ones. They're precious and I'm thankful they are on this earth. Their innocence and cheerfulness is often so encouraging.

In reference to Emmy's comment in #6:

When I worked at Goodwill we had three or four members of our staff who participated in the Games. I always enjoyed the Mondays when they would come to work wearing their medals. They would grin from ear to ear and we would all ask them questions about the compitition. But what made my day is when they would be out on the floor and the customers would be hugging them in congrats, and everybody was in on their celebrations with them.

Some would joke with them about their smiles being too bright for that early in the morning and then we'd wear our sunglasses. Then they would put theirs on saying it was reflecting back at them.

We all enjoyed their accomplishments.

Peace & Blessings to all, PL

Gab, I just feel that for him to make a comment like the one he made just shows how far this country needs to address the issue of people with handicaps.
Nothing more, he hasn't been in office long enough to judge anything else.
And I will say this, if he had more contact with the disabled the words never would cross his mind.

Gator, Thanks, LOL I feel special. I am also grateful for Being part of this community. I met so many good people here, either face to face, or by phone....PS where are Justin and mines cookies;-)

hi BT, i, like Gatorxgrrrl says, his words came out wrong and in no way meant to hurt people; let me tell you something you probly don`t know, our last president, Vicente Fox, used to have many a slip like that, the press people were waiting for even the sligthest mistake to chew on him, they never realised he was a loud mouth even before, since his campaign, but in the end he gave us the stability we very much needed and economic grouth spected, although if you ask the press or comun people they think of him as a big mouth and mistake maker, truth is, we didn`t got inflation or devaluations durind his term, so, point out his mistakes, but don`t make the mistake to pin him as always wrong (sorry can`t think of the rigth words)
you VERY special.

Hi BT,

Yes your are special, a special person to us here on WU.

With regard to Pres Obama, personally, I think it was an insensitive slip that he meant to be making fun of himself - not others. Believe me I am no fan of his really, but I don't think he meant it the way it came out.

The good that can come out of this is, there will be awareness of the Special Olympics. Yeah I think we need to give Obama a break on this one, but I understand how it would hurt your feelings.

Take care Art. Hugs!

Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 3:39 PM EDT on March 24, 2009

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this
evening...

A red flag warning remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening.

A combination of very dry grass and brush... wind gusts 25 to 30 mph
and low relative humidity levels are expected into this evening.
This weather could result in the rapid spread of brush fires if
one were to start.

Reports of brush fires being impacted by winds have been received.

Residents are urge to keep vehicles out of grassy areas and to
ensure proper disposal of any smoking materials. In only takes a
carelessly disposed of cigarette to ignite a wild fire and with
the dry and windy weather conditions... a small fire could spread
rapidly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are occurring or imminent. A combination of strong winds... low
relative humidity... and dry fuels will create explosive fire
growth potential.

touched by these beautiful people know
how blessed we are...yes WE have been
blessed by THEM.
I wish others could be just as blessed
and just as touched and changed...
It doesn't take much
really.

Emmy, I helped out at many events at the VA hospital which is 1 mile from where I live, and my dad spent 2 full years of his life in.
i participated in the CT special olympics, not as a buddy, but a set up man. all the grunt work, for my niece.
And did many a walk for cures for breast cancer you know the story behind that.
Im well versed and well educated on the plight of the disabled population.
Unfortunately, right now i dont have much time except for the special olympics. My job just dont allow me the time to get involved more. Maybe, in a few years, I will have more time and would be first in line to do so.
I speak from experience, not off the top of my head.

MC - Be careful son. That bile is gonna kill you. Are you just crawling out of your skin that the market isn't crashing? I can only imagine. BT has a big tent. And a big heart. GS has a big vocabulary and a big mind.

Pardon me, BT.

Bile, Odog? LMAO. No, I want the markets up as much as anyone, probably more. I at least don't have my head in the sand and refuse to see the reality and the gravity of what's happening. Odog, really, go talk to with somebody that wants to hear your self-perceived, omniscient crap! I'm not bitin'!

LOL, "son?" Hehe! That's funny, especially coming from a well-versed esquire!

Later, BT, too stuffy in here! Gotta go. Have a good sleep. Appreciate the good blog. Thanks.

Emmy I would get great joy out of doing that.
Like I said, im not just a passer-by. Ive lived with it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is
this and bear with me please
I am not the most logical person
but hear my words please....

With all the bruhaha of people's
righteous indignation over the comment
you could turn that feeling around
and put your heart and mind into
action if you feel that strongly
about people with mental challenges
or physical challenges...

Instead of b*tching about Obama
(who apologized) and you want
to "show him a thing or two"
DO IT.

GO to a special education class
and read them a book

Go become a buddy to a child
with down syndrome

Go to special olympics and become
a coach, a buddy for a day

Go to a children's cancer ward
and do something nice.

Go to your Church and ask what
programs are set up for the disabled

Go to your emergency management
and ask "how has this city
cared for our most vulnerable"

Go to one of my shows and see
how people of all abilities have
a right to create

Go to a shelter and help
drive those who are emotional
disturbed to their appts or donate
food and clothes and fruckin tea.

Go get off your BUTTS,
quit complaining
and DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE.
If you feel you are insensed
with Obama's comment and you
know better - DO IT.

Or is it just the comment
to condemn really the issue?

Seriously folks - I live
this passion and we are
desperate for good volunteers
who truly will have their lives
changed.

Thank you.

I dont know if anyone
will read this or
just blow me off
but Art thank you letting
me get this out of my head.
