Expires 11:45 PM EDT on August 28, 2006

Statement as of 3:42 PM EDT on August 28, 2006

... Flood Watch in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday
evening...

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of southern Connecticut... northeast New
Jersey and southeast New York... including the following areas... in
southern Connecticut... southern Fairfield and southern New
Haven... in northeast New Jersey... Bergen... Essex... Passaic and
Union... and in southeast New York... southern Westchester.

* From Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.

* Low pressure over the Midwest and its associated warm front will
advance toward the region late tonight and Tuesday. The front will
become the focus for heavy rainfall over the region on Tuesday.

* Forecast rainfall of 1 to 2 inches... with locally higher amounts of
up to 3 inches... will likely result in widespread urban... poor
drainage and basement flooding... especially along the I-95 corridor
of southwest Connecticut where some areas still had standing water
as of late this morning. Smaller rivers and streams across southern
Westchester County New York and northeast New Jersey will also be
vulnerable to flooding.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Hi Art,

Yinz (Pittsburghese for y'all) all have a great weekend, too.

We Baltimorons are getting dumped on right now. No flash flood warnings...yet. At least I'll get out of mowing the lawn tomorrow.

My best to you, your bride and all five little BT's.

Heavy rainfall this afternoon across Connecticut has caused rapid
rises on the Naugatuck River. We expect to see flood stage reached
around 7 or 8 PM this evening at Waterbury and couple hours later
at Beacon Falls.

Residences along the river need to take immedate action to protect
life and property. Stay away from the banks of the river as waters
are rising rapidly.

&&

Location stg stg day time crest

Naugatuck River
Beacon Falls 12.0 7.03 Fri 5 PM
Waterbury 12.8 10.76 Fri 6 PM

Do not drive cars through flooded areas.

Stay tuned to developments by listening to NOAA Weather Radio

Have A Great Weekend.

Your son looks so happy in the fishing picture. Must get the family out again.

Must find the picture of the hubby fishing in the bybass canal here. He went fishing about 2 hours before Frances came right across us.
He wanted to see what the fish would be doing.

i never said that he was the smartest. LOL
