The climate change conference this past week was Awesome. It incorporated acceptance, information, and action in the form of recomendations to the florida legislature.
The conference was made more poinient by the blanket of ash deposited on all the cars in the parking lot. A powerful drought has lead to wildfires ALL OVER Florida. something like 57 of Florida's 63 counties had wild fires in the last 7 days. It was even smokey INSIDE the smoke free conference hotel!
God can make a point when he wants to.

The eubiquitous smoke from south Georgia fires have been replaced by ashes falling on Gainesville, Florida. The smoke blocked the sun and added a bronze filter to the light on the drive home yesterday 5/7/2007. This morning, tuesday the 8th, had heavy smoke between Gainesville and Melrose. Palatka is clear so far. My alergies are going crazy between the dry pollin and all the smoke in the air.
We will see if the State EOC calls me up for GIS speaclialist backup this week.
I am supposed to go to the climate change conference in Tampa but the fires may superseede that.
A Tropical cyclone spirals closer to florida off the NE coast. It promises rain but for now, just fans the fires with dry NE air.
