Weather planners get wires crossed
Posted by: bell32ndst, 8:28 PM GMT on March 18, 2012 +0
Here it is, the middle of the afternoon, and the temperature in Phoenix, by the mercury thermometer in my backyard, is 46 degrees. And they are having temperatures in the 70s in the midwest. The planners messed up, the location of those temperatures should be reversed.

Two days ago it was in the 80s here, slightly above average for this time of year. Clear blue skies, balmy breezes, cool not cold nights, the fragrance of citrus blossoms wafting through the air.

We need the rain, but we could do without the frigid air. ;-) If it clears up and is calm tonight, with the low air temps, we could even get a freeze! Well, not at the official site, just here in my yard. Extremely unusual for March.

Erratic weather continues

For three days the highs here were in the 80s and the lows in the 40s. Then yesterday, the high was only 56 and the low this morning was 30. Like a cold day in January. Except it's only two weeks from the equinox. It's crazy.

The sun won, warmer this morning

It was 32 this morning, so the sun heated the air more than the increased cooling could overcome. Warmer today than yesterday, so this has to be the last gasp for cold weather in Phoenix. It's already March.
