Very calm Friday evening during snowfall in Mainz (Germany), just around the corner of my place in the midst of the historic city. Dec 7th 2012
-------------------------------------------------
Just some impressions from ten days in Italy / northern Toscana (Tuscany) in September, but first some music we used to listen from dear old Adriano
"Our" little holiday house, rented near Pietrasanta
View from our balcony to the South (at the horizon you sometimes could see to Pisa and even to the island of Corsica)
View from our balcony toward the mountainious east during a little rain
"Our" garden with olive trees. It's harvest time.
Nearby village of arts, Pietrasanta, with its cathedral. Michelangelo had been there, too.
Nice place in Pietrasanta (with moon!) to have dinner or to do a little shopping.
View from the large beaches of the Versilia (Toscana) to the Apuan Alps. Hiking in these alps is very nice (views!!!), but maybe not for too long, because ...
... of their content of marble. There are many quarries in which f.e. Michelangelo found the material for his sculptures (he even had to built some roads in order to organize transport). So maybe these mountains will be gone in the centuries to come?? Pity! This picture was taken near Carrara.
At last a view from the seaside at Viareggio, western coast of Italy at the Gulf of Genova, where sometimes medicanes (hurricanes in the Mediterranean sea) are trying to form.
