From President Obama(yes its satire people)
...Dear Texas:
I have received your petition to secede from the United States and have forwarded it to Congress who will act on it with their usual speed. All military bases in Texas will be closed and personnel relocated to bases in the United States, except for a contingency left to guard the Texas-US Border. Any Texas citizen holding a US passport is required to surrender it immediately. Entry into the US will require a valid Texas passport. Anyone staying longer than two weeks will have to obtain a visa. Funding for highways, transportation, bridges, infrastructure, education and medical facilities will cease immediately. Your repres

entatives to the US Congress are ordered to leave Washington as soon as possible. All US licenses to do business are revoked. The FAA will no longer operate at your airports and air traffic controllers are terminated. All Federal Civil Service employees in the country of Texas are terminated. The FCC no longer operates so you will be responsible for licensing your own telephone, radio, television and Internet providers. Anyone receiving payments for Social Security, Mediciare, Medicaid and Disability will have to reapply and Congress will decide if foreigners are allowed to receive payments from the US Govt. The Coast Guard will no longer operate in Texas waters so suggest you form your own navy immediately to protect your borders against foreign invaders, drug smugglers, terrorists and illegal aliens. Good luck.

Hi Aubie,
I saw your comment about having over 45,000 posts.

Do you realise that works out at an average of 20 a day since August 2006!
And as you had long periods of silence over the last couple of years, since you were drawn to the bright lights of FB, you must have 'talked' a lot when you were here!! lol

Happy Sunday :-)

I still spend lots of time here..Dont post much anymore..seems most of the old crowed is on FB now,and yea I spend lots of time there also..but WU will always be my home for sure.

There are a few holes in your satire post Auburn.

1) Of course the US would let Texans overstay their welcome in the US as long as they want and receive plenty of benefits. Why wouldn't they? Plenty of illegals do already.

2) Foreigners can and do receive checks from our government. I know because my grandfather in Greece did and I am 99% sure he was never a US citizen.

3) I'm sure Texans are more than capable of defending themselves.

Well, here be a response from Ray Wylie (who says, "The problem with irony is that not everyone gets it...")

You probably remember Ray Wylie a little better for this gem from the early stage of his career. Wouldn't be surprised if some of the boys in the Texas Navy don't give a listen now and then. ;)

And may they live happily ever after...hahaha
