As most of us who know Plapman, he is a fellow blogger from Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, a fellow Canadian and just a great person. We have not seen him on the blogs for a few days and have wondered where he was. We finally have news...The dear man suffered a stroke and is now slowly recovering from its after effects. Please keep Plapman in your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully he will be back with us soon. God Bless you all.

REMEMBER,,,DONT DRINK AND DRIVE...we would all miss ya!!!

New Year
By: ColoradoKat

It's time to say Good-Bye to 2009,
Watch the ball drop and make a toast with good wine.
The century's first decade will also be gone,
Leaving so many changes as it marches on.
As with any ten years, there was a mixture of news..
Some made our hearts soar, some gave us the blues.
Politically, we got split right in two,
But that's not all I am, and it's not all of you.
A person is made up of all different parts
And we choose our friends for the good in their hearts.
If you dwell on the bad things, and I guess that you could,
You'd be closing your heart to all that is good.
Each person I know adds a different dimension.
If it seems I ignore you, it's not my intention.
There's only so much time given in every day,
So I choose just a few places to say what I say,
But when I have time, I go to your space
To read a story you tell, see a new baby's face.
I'd comment on everything..it would be fun,
But then I would never get anything done!
My job, home and local friends need my attention..
A long list of things, far too many to mention.
What's most in my thinking as this old year ends,
Is how grateful I am for my family and friends.
Even the worst days are easier to handle,
When you know friends are praying or lighting a candle.
It's my greatest hope that we're all here again,
To share the events of our 2010.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: catastropheadjuster, 1:51 PM GMT on December 24, 2009Hello everyone, I wanted to say thank you for all the Christmas Cards that have been sent to me and my Family. I took and stuck them to the wall and designed a Christmas tree with them, just like everyone else it's really bad this year. We couldn't even buy a tree or any presents. I know it's not about the gifts and I don't worry about me or hubby but this was my First year with my grandson here and I can't even buy him anything. They turned the cable off waiting for them to turn the power next, maybe they'll have a heart and wait til after Christmas Day. It don't help Hubby and I are real sick. I think i have pneumonia and the sickness is going thru the house,.
You know I understand how bad people feel when they get down and feel like there drowning it's not cool. it makes you think. I just want things to get a little better, I'm not asking to be rich or nothing.

Thank You all for being my friends. I Love My WU Family.
You All Have A Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. I will be around.

Bye,Bye
Your Friend,
Sheri

Please keep those prayers coming because she is back in the hospital and cant get her blood pressure under control, awaiting test results to see if the heart can withstand stronger meds. if not the Dr.'s will have to remove her kidneys completely and rely on dialysis until all the test are done on my brother before the... dononation could take place.... it is a long process....

RIP Little Buddy...I am gonna miss ya bad!!!

.

North America's only marsupial (female has a pouch) mammal. The female carries and nurses her young in her marsupium until they are about 2 to 3 months old; then they are carried on her back another 1 to 2 months whenever they are away from the den.

blueline

Size of a cat; grey to black fur; black eyes; pink nose, feet and tail; black ears; and pointed nose.

Solitary and nocturnal: usually slow moving; when frightened and unable to flee may fall into an involuntary shock-like state, playing 'possum".

Hiss or growl and show their 50 sharp teeth when frightened; but, in reality, they are gentle and placid— they prefer to avoid all confrontations and wish to be left alone.

Omnivorous: eats insects, snails, rodents, berries, over-ripe fruit, grasses, leaves, and carrion; occasionally will eat snakes, ground eggs, corn or other vegetables.

Adaptable; able to live wherever water, food, and shelter exist. At home in trees; uses its prehensile tail to help stabilize position when climbing— it does not, however, hang by its tail.

One of the shortest lived mammals for its size, typically 2 to 4 years. Killed by many predators: humans (and cars), dogs, cats, owls, and larger wildlife.

URGENT WU UPDATE: As of today, WU will... Content deleted by admin. Please continue enjoying WU

Welcome to da Doghouse...right Clem?

Birmingham area

* For Birmingham, where nearly 100 years of weather records exist, there has never been a White Christmas in the classic sense.
* Perhaps the closest resemblance to a White Christmas in Birmingham was December, 1985. Flurries falling on Christmas Eve and early Christmas morning lightly dusted some areas, but snow was not deep enough to measure.
* Eight other trace snowfall events occurring in 1961, 1963, 1966, 1980, 1989, 1990, 1993, and 1995 were reported at the Birmingham International Airport on either December 24th or 25th.
* Weather records show that 5.5 inches of snow fell at the city office on December 22, 1929. On December 24th, there was still 2.5 inches of snow on the ground at 7 PM. However, most of the snow melted Christmas Day when the temperature climbed to 51 degrees.

Montgomery area

* For Montgomery, there has not been a White Christmas since 1919. The closest Montgomery has come to a White Christmas was in 1962 when a trace of snow was observed on December 24th. However, a near miss occurred in 1935 when 1.4 inches of snow fell on December 21-22.

Tuscaloosa area

* Tuscaloosa has only reported two trace snowfall events in 1962 and 1985 on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Anniston area

* Anniston has reported a total of seven trace snowfall events in 1963, 1970, 1985, 1989, 1990, 1993, and 1995 on either December 24th or 25th, but has never seen a true White Christmas.
