Good morning! Yesterday was almost a total loss. I had been looking for a good cam of a particular place for over two years. I did find one of it about a year or so ago, one of the best cams I've ever seen, but it has a time stamp on the URL, and I can't use it here. The other day, I found a second cam, nearly as good as the first, and more importantly, no time stamp, and it could be replicated by itself on a standalone tab(forgive me if this is being too technical). Anyway, after several hours of work doing research and formatting, I plugged the cam in, only for it to show a substitue image with the word "sample" across it!!! This is what Milos #2 does, BTW. Anyway, they did offer a way to link the image with a line of script, so I'm going to try that. Otherwise, I'll have to scrap the entire blog, and begin anew! :((

Wab, Sandi, GG, I'll reply on the new blog, whenever I get it done!

Good morning! Another nice cool start, headed to a hot afternoon; 60 at dawn, 90 this afternoon! There are some showers to the NW of here, but I'm not sure if it'll make it down here, as the air's pretty dry!

Low clouds or fog in the Smokies, and a couple of cruise ships off into the distance in Geiranger! Work continues on the new blog; hopefully, I'll have it done and posted today!

Briar, the critter in question looks like a groundhog to me. Definitely has a rodent's shape!

GG, Kalbarri is 27.71S. latitude, which is about the same distance from the equator as Corpus Cristi or Sarasota. No snow here!

Good Morning, as it is winter in Australia and 86f, really don't want to try their summer. Thailand continues to fascinate.

As for the dark black animal in Briars screen shot it can only be a black squirralapotomous of course.

Lots of heat haze and/or smoke in the Columbia River Gorge. With all the fires in eastern Oregon and Washington, it will probably remain that way for some time.

A woman wearing a knee-length coat at Amazing Thailand at 7:00am and 76°. She thinks that's cool???

At the Feeder: deer, raccoon, and something a bit smaller and darker...

what do you think it is?

Still morning here Ylee:
How's the day?
I was watching the Paria Outlook cam and not much changes there except the clouds and lighting.
Obviously that landscape has gone through extreme change though.
Maybe in a few thousand years we will get to watch a time-lapse video from now till then and see something resembling action in that wonderful view.

Good morning! Nice cool start to the morning at 60 degrees when I got up, but it's supposed to top out near 90 later! Even warmer tomorrow, then a chance of rain later in the week!

Cloudy over the Smokies, train in Japan, rain in Thailand! Will try to get a new blog up this week!

Bug, we've had several mornings this summer where the temp dropped in the 50s, including a couple of 53s! Some folks think that's too cold, but it felt pretty good at work!

Wab, Leukerbad Therme doesn't offer hotel services, so I'm guessing they shut it down after business hours!

GG, maybe they ....never mind, I tried to spin the Donner party to Santa's reindeer, and when I got to Vixen, it went bad, lol!

Sandi, those pools are heated to 35C, so maybe they were sweating! ;' ) Rather be sweating in a deckchai, myself!

Nothing much happening, but a couple sitting in the shade of the tree on the beach at Milos... in old fashioned deckchairs!

Hotel Viktoria's pool is completely empty .. no one in it at all and only 7pm in the evening .. would think it would be packed ..

goin up to mid to hi 80's this afternoon ..

Yeah, I have wondered about that too. The pool is filled from early morning and then *poof* they are gone by dinner time. Hmmmmmm, hot thermal pools, isolated mountain area, everyone gone by donner, er dinner.

Hope you're enjoying the coolth up there. 68F ?????

Break out the long johns!

We're at 73F but it's so wet outside, it feels warmer. Nice but no where near chilly.

I got waked up way too early this a.m. with lightning flashes coming thru the blinds and curtains in the bedroom. Been raining lightly but steadily ever since. Half inch in the gauge so far.

Guess we'll be spending the day inside. Too icky to do anything but watch TV, read, snooze. I'll have to haul myself to the kitchen at some point and fix dinner.

Dramatic sunrise over the clouds in the Smokies, rain in Thailand and Norway, another nice one in Milos!

Glad you smashed your rain record, WTS! :- ) I guess the Aussies aren't on strike, as the cam is back!

Someone has too much money, Sandi? Send them my way, and I'll take care of that! :' )

I didn't know you were that cold last month, GG! Maybe August will be that cold, too!

Good morning Ylee.
Yes it was one of those skinny trees in the middle.
They're a Lombardy polar and do grow fast,
I've been taking some time off the computer, the tinnitus is driving me insane.
The audiologist says see my doctor the doctor says he could cut the nerves then I'd be completely deaf.
I think I'll cope with the sound in my ears.
Have a good day while we bake on the prairie..

Good morning! This will be my one and only post for this shift, as this is a shared computer! Looks like we have some scattered stuff on the radar at the moment, although it's not raining here right now!

Cams all look good, except for the perpetually stuck Glen Canyon; time willing, I'll have a new blog up this week!

White rabbits, Pros! Hope you have a good August!

GG, that is a special pier that allows the passengers to walk to the big ships! There are several places in Norway that have these!

Cal, I'm not a cruise person either, but I wouldn't mind maybe a daytrip up a fjord!

White rabbits, wab! Hope that August brings you cool breezes!

Looking forward to lots of howling from you, Alley! :' ) We also have those charities in this area!

WTS, hopefully I can get some work done on Ch. #5 tonight, and keep my eyes straight! :' )

Hi Ylee. Yes less strain on the heart which is not my problem, the old ticker is actually fine, but it does ease the back and knee pain where I had the fractures from the accident. Nice to be able to get back into some of my old clothes. Most have become big for me so the Thrift store will get a donation before snow falls. Lots of dress slacks, skirts and tops used for work. Here we have the Salvation Army that do a lot of good and the St Vincent de Paul, a Catholic based group who helps those in need.
Looking forward to feeling comfortable about myself and enjoy the new found joy. I know I will do it and get to my goal, if not by my birthday (66) then by the New Year. 2015 is my year to howl.......
Thank you Calpoppy, actually losing it was rather easy. All I needed was an attitude adjustment and decided to do it for me, no one else. I changed how I ate, what I ate and really made an effort this time. Success. I also take l000 mg of Cinnamon to help with my diabetes and I think it has also helped in losing weight.

Hi there gang: Glad to see everyone is still enjoying bantering on the weather blogs. Looks like the weather weenies are going to have a wee storm to follow soon as Bertha makes her final approach to being a hurricane. Pre-op this week at the hospital and one final doc's appt on the 25th for my cardiac assessment. Sept 2nd is the big day and will look forward to get that over with, tests pending on that and the wait to get them back. Sure as hell don't want to have to travel out of city to a big centre to get the next stage if it all proves positive. I tell ya, once you hit 60, you sure start falling apart quickly. LOL Been dieting like a crazy person and so far have dropped 120 lbs, want to lose another 20 or more before Sept 2. Sure hope I can maintain this pace. I am finally getting down to what I was before the car accident in '98. Immobility is still my bane but I will deal with that the best I can. So dear friends, that is why I have not been on WU for a while. Anyway have a great month ahead, and may the storms be few and far between, rain is a blessing, just wish we could share with California right now. Have a blessed day.

Good evening! A decent summer day here; temps topped out in the mid 80s, but the humidity levels are still good for this time of year!

Cams are all A-OK, except for Glen Canyon; Some folks on the pier at Kalbarri, rain in Norway, nothing at the feeder.

Will continue work on Ch.#5 if time allows.......

Good evening! We had another nice day today, a bit warmer at 85, but the dewpoint was still in the low 60s, and we had a light breeze, so it was still very bearable!

Cams all look OK; one lone person at Kalbarri, two deer and two coons, a fuschia sky! at Chiang Rai (gotta be the optics), and hotness in Glen Canyon, Columbia Gorge, and Hong Kong!

Wab, deer is in the light again tonight! Almost makes it look like an albino!

Sandi, they must've been out to lunch, perhaps?

Lower left hand corner, since no one else guessed, GG! How did you know one of them was named Waldo? Odd name for a Norwegian.... :' )

WTS, you made me think; I wonder if those cruise ships have a set of keys that only the Captain carries? :' )

Oz, I remember I had a cam at a ski resort in Australia about this time last year; I'll have to go check it out!

Funny you should mention that, Briar! Last week, I just took the week off from writing, as work was too busy, it was hot, and I was too tired to concentrate much. Things are better(so far!) this week, so I hope to get a few hours in on Chapter 5.

The Gorge is looking gorgeous. I have looked all over, trying to find a webcam that would show the windsurfing near Hood River. It is a sight to behold, so I would think the tourism bureau would put up a cam.

Glen Canyon looks hot (and it is), with that heat haze in the distance.

Tide is out at Kalbarri and one person out for a walk.

Have you had much opportunity to work on Chapter 5?
