I think I can speak for most of the folks east of the Rockies in saying that I'm ready for Spring! However, there seems to be a shortage of Spring-y cams at the moment! So, I decided to post a hodgepodge of cams, picked by no other reason outside of the fact that I like them! :' )

Hope you do too!

Good morning YLee.
The snow was melting but today it's cold and windy again.
Abby and me have been out for walks the last couple of days but it looks like we're house bound again today. :(

Good morning YLee.
I'm with you on a no snow zone.
Yesterday I cleared a path to the small garage door.
Abbey runs out on one path to do her thing and had a hard packed ridge. I nearly wiped out going to the garage the other day to find a tool.
Today I'll get Abbey out if the shoulders of our trail have been cleared.
Have a good one.

Good evening! A very nice day here, at least to start; temps made it to almost 60, before clouds and drizzle arrived later this afternoon! It's cooled off considerably, with a forecast below freezing by morning!

New blog by morning, I hope! :' )

Hi, Linda! Snowflakes have lost their charm to me! Maybe by July, I'll be ready to see them again! :' )

Sandi, that's a lot of squirrels! May be a record, in fact! They must be running out of stored food!

Bug, the warmer temps are most appreciated not only by me, but the frogs, who were going crazy out back!

I'm losing it, I'm afraid.

I've been by here several times today and I've yet to leave a post.

I see 2 or 3 squirrels at the feeder cam.

The penguins were nowhere to be seen earlier but they're back now. One is playing King of the Hill on that big rock.

The big village is gone from the ice at Mille Lacs but there appear to be a few tents out there.

I see you've hit 56F this afternoon. YAY!

Hit the jackpot at the feeder!!
Fourteen squirrels ... at least I think they are squirrels, I still think they look like chipmunks!

Yup - ten hours ago I was in the land of nod!

The feeder cam is working - two raccoons and an indistinct blob that may or may not be a raccoon. And there are lots of big, fluffy flakes on the Matsumoto cam - very pretty, really.

Got the last cam, I think! We'll see if the server comes back online!

NEw, that's pretty cold, but I think Tony(aka Plapman) has you beat!

Sandi, I know you're asleep(I think, lol), but there's two deer at the feeder now!

Time to go home! Be back tomorrow night!

Good morning! Ghilly, frosty start to the day, temps in the mid 20s. However, it's supposed to quickly warm up to the 50s later today! Nice!

Substation cam is pointed toward the surface, instead of the reef! Feeder cam is working again!

Maybe I can get that last cam today!

Good morning, Sandi!

One more cam to go! My goal is to have eight all new cams for the next blog! Feeder cam is stuck at 4:30PM local time!

Tell me about it, WTS! I don't think I've had 60+ temps two days in a row since November, perhaps?

Thank you, BF! I'll endeavour to do the best that I can to keep the story going, and to make sure it does not suck!

Hi, Ylee.
"Pain and suffering, and how you deal with it, makes a person who they are a lot more than even love." I love this line from the grandmother character who obviously knows something about love. Also like what she says that follows, but the part above grabbed me.

Couldn't see all the cams but could see four penguins. Thank you.

The Low Longitudes are done! Just need a couple more, and the new blog's cams will all be assembled!

Mornin', Todd!

GG, if you go to the Substation website, you can see the cam automatically refresh, so maybe that underwater varmit could be ID'd!

That's wild, ycd! Hope the little guy's OK.....

I like the Substation Curacao so I went over to the website just now and one of the cams showed a cute little octopus sliding up the rock. Into the view came a plastic tube and it vacuumed up the small octopus!

Good Morning, there was something huge with lots of long trailing fins at the sub cam. Unfortunately the body was obscured by the cam logo. Still really cool though.

Oh dear, trouble at the Minnesota lakes. That is never good. Especially when it involves the reservations enforcing treaty rights.

Not sticking around too long this morning; gotta catch Europe before the sun goes down! :' ) Supposed to be a little warmer today, temps in the mid 40s! Long range forecast calls for 60s next week! WooHoo!

Found five new cams for the next blog so far, still have a few more to go! Got busy late yesterday, so I didn't have a chance to check in before I left.

Oz, the last thing on my mind now is mowing grass; maybe in a month to six weeks? Still have to get the mower prepped for spring!

Briar, that's an interesting link you left! Didn't know that Mille Lacs had issues, issues that won't get solved due to gov't logjams! :( Is the webcam on that site the same one that I have? I can't see it, as work has blocked it due to it being "streaming media". :P

Hi, Sandi! Milos still has blue skies! :' )

Interesting points Briar has brought up... perhaps there is something "fishy" going on!
Blue sky in Milos, with grey, overcast conditions on many other cams.

Three "squirrels" at the feeder:)

Last time I was here, there were some trailers and shacks for ice fishers at Mille Lacs. Now, they've all cleared out. Could it be that it's too cold even for ice fishing?

Many of the Mille Lacs ice fishing businesses don't have any recent reports. I did find on one, dated March 4, this interesting tidbit:

Today it was warm……. above zero in the am. and warmed up to the teens. After what we’ve been thru this winter it was a heat wave….lol.

Still no fishermen showed up to try to see what is going on out there. Maybe as the weather warms we will see some.

On that same page (http://lybacks.com/category/fishing-report/) there was also a lot of talk about a court decision concerning "treaty management" and this:

When the lake is in trouble, which obviously it is, you cannot disturb it’s spawning season in any way. You do not have to be fisheries biologist to know that.

More than just winter weather going on there.

Good morning! Freezing fog greeted me when I got up, covering everything in a heavy frost! It's warmed up a little from yesterday; I hope the trend continues!

Cams look OK; pretty clouds in Milos! I'm going to spend less time visiting, and more time looking for cams the next couple of days!

Pacing the floors again, Pros? :( I think we're just going to get rain this weekend, so maybe, just maybe, all the snow here will be washed away!

Don't worry about causing a little trouble; livens up the place, lol!

Hi, oz! It's getting colder in Antarctica, and soon it'll be time for the penguins to ship out to warmer climes!

Hi, Trauma! Milos looks good even when the weather's bad!

I can work 80 hours a week, every week, and not let it affect me mentally, calpoppy! LOLOL! Seriously, GG, I've worked long hours in high pressure environments for most of my working life, so this job is for the most part gravy. Besides, if I get a little tired, I can take a little 10 minute nap, if time allows.

Good early morning. It seems that the Raccoons and I are awake. They are eating and I am gallivanting through the blogs and facebook.

I am so tired of this winter! You probably are as well. Incredibly, we might get another storm on Monday! I really would like to take all of the snow fallen this year in the USA and deposit it on top of Putin's head! Yes, this would make me happy. Oh, oh, I better go get back to bed before I say something that will get me into real trouble this cold early early early morning.

Have a good day.

Hi Ylee! Not sure do you have the Bourbon Street cam out of New Orleans for Mardi Gras in New Orleans?

Looks like a rainy day for Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans
There are several cams from there.

Live Bourbon Street Cam from Arnaud's

Mardi Gras Cam from looks like Tropical Isle - looks like a still photo that is not upgrading unless you hit refresh.

New Orleans Cam this one is live with sounds even.

Hey Ylee, Mornin! A couple penguins near the shore, cloudy eve at Milos. Looks like you are not much warmer than Mille Lacs - not spring yet ;)
Yesterday, a couple forecast models indicate upper midwest will be much cooler than norm for the spring, while the southwest is much warmer - just great... Hope the cable/webs don't go out!!

Good morning! The nasty winter storm forecast for us didn't materialize, for the most part; IMO, the bulk of the precip arrived before the cold came in, so most of it was rain. We got maybe 0.1" of ice, and about 2" of snow, still enough to close school for a couple of days. Fortunately, it didn't get as cold as forecast last night, as it made it down to 11, instead of 9! Should start a slow warmup, reaching the low 50s by Friday!

Cams are still working well; no penguins. Europe looks pretty good, and all the fishing trailers have left Mille Lacs! I'll be here the next four day shifts, so that should give me plenty of time to find cams for the next blog!

Hi, Sandi! Roads were a little slick, but pretty managable. The roads on the way to work were clear by this morning!

Hi, Tony! I know gulls can kill and eat penguin chicks after they hatch, but the young are almost fully grown now!

Bug, I'll make you wait as long as I want to, lolol! I don't think anyone wants Ch. #2 done any more than I do! But it'll be done right!

Pros, all is good here. I don't think anyone lost power, either.

Cal, all of us that are sick of the cold are moving to your area, lol!

Hardy stock? Us? If you say so, WTS, butlots of us around here would go catatonic if they lost cable or internet! :' )

25C at Trigg Beach at 10 PM is pretty warm, oz! At least it's not Adelaide!

Wab, when you posted, we were getting mostly sleet! Most of the precip we got was rain, which hit the ground before it had a chance to freeze on anything!

Thanks, Snake! I think one of the most amazing aspects of ladies from that generation was to be loving and gentle one second, and hard as nails the next!

Just read your first chapter, great job Ylee!

I had a Grandmother just like that. Raised two sons.
Saw Grandpa serve in WW2, saw my Dad serve in Korea,
saw me serve in Vietnam. Her mind was as tough as shoe

The penguins are covered in snow and the snow covered Mille Lac is down to minus 16F this morning. But not as chlly as Calagary, which reported minus 46 F which is darn chilly!!!!

Good evening! Up to 1/2" of ice, followed by 4"-8" of snow? All I can say is BAH! :P This could easily be the worst winter storm of the year! Double BAH!

Cams are all working properly; penguins are lit up in the dark for some reason. This is odd, as there's no moon out! Some folk from O'Higgins, perhaps? Another nice day at Trigg Beach!

Tony, that's really neat how they do that! You'd think those things would tip over!

White rabbits, Skye, Pros, bug, and WTS! 50s are long gone! :(
