As a lot of you know, I've had some computer troubles over the past couple of weeks. Some history: since I have a lot of down time here at work, a few years ago, I messed around with this old work computer, and found I had a rudimentary internet connection. At first, it was weather.gov, the National Park Service, and other government websites. Then, in 2010, purely by accident, I clicked on a link that led me here. I soon found out that the internet filtering software the company uses lets several non-gov't sites pass through, WU being one. Any website that has "gov" or "mil" in the URL can be accessed by this computer.

Fast forward to a little over a year ago. I'm sure the nuts and bolts as to how it happened is complicated, but basically, by going to one of Bogon's old blogs, and logging on again, I could access a lot more websites, all of those that my company would allow. Everybody loved the Kanzi, Swaledale, Snow monkey, and Penguin cams. It was a lot of work, as the computer struggled often to just load the new pages, but it was worth it, as I had access to Wikipedia, and other outlets for information, making blogmaking much easier!

However, a couple of weeks ago, somehow the computer reverted back to its old ways, and all the places that I used to go for cams are no longer accessible now. I'm continuing to try to find a way at least to where I was, so I can bring the best cams out there to you. In the meantime, it's just gov't and WU, so here we go!

Looking forward to the new cams!

Okay, where is the new blog, and will it include puppies?
They are getting big.

I won't mention anything about seeing a coon just now.

Just messing with you before shutting everything down for the night.

Have a good night Ylee.

Good evening! Rain and thunder appeared late this afternoon! as of right now, there is still light rain! It looks like the worst of it went to the south!

Latest from Milos: "The webcam is currently out of service due to technical problems." At least they have a handle on the situation, and hopefully, they'll get it back online soon!

If all goes according to plan, I'll have a new blog tonight! Stay tuned!

Cool, Numberwise! Wish I'd seen that! You never can tell what you'll see on these cams!

Hi, Sandi! Port Douglas seems to be OK at the moment. Don't matter too much to me at the moment, as a new blog's on its' way, here in a few hours!

Bug, maybe the new blog will give you something to look at!

I hate to see little children with pierced ears, and I mean those under five years old... and I apologise if I offend anyone who has small children with pierced ears, but that's just me.

A really funny day here ... funny as in things that have happened, and not funny haha!

A deer at the salt lick!

Yes, Pros, they're hidden by clothing. Even sleeveless tops and shorts. Three on my back and one small one on each hip. A bathing suit would have exposed two of the ones on my back but I had no reason to wear one while visiting him. In fact, I haven't had a reason to wear a bathing suit in a good 10 years or more.

One of them is a memorial tattoo for Mama, Larry and Dad. Hubby was a bit perplexed that I did that one a good while before Dad passed. At the time I decided to do it, I knew his health was getting worse but I had no idea how long he would be around. He could have wound up being one of those 'creaky gates.' If I waited until after he was gone, I might not have been inkable. It was something I really wanted to do, so I didn't wait.

Ylee, sorry about hijacking your blog but it was that Harley and tat remark that started it! lol

Good morning! High clouds are obscuring a strong sun this morning; supposed to mostly sunny and humid, with a high in the upper 80s today! That's warmer than it's been for most of the summer, but it's still nowhere near what it's been in years' past!

Milos is still down; if it doesn't get fixed in the next couple of days, Imay leave it off the next blog! Digby's at low tide!

GG, I was asleep at home when you popped in! :' ) I'm not sure if conditions will be right to see meteors here, as it's supposed to be cloudy! I also may be too tired to care, especially if I work another 16! (A good possibility!)

Hi Ylee. Looking forward to your next blog and new places to watch!

Holy cow! Bug has more than one tattoo? Pray do tell, in what firm spots do you have the tats? I assume they are where clothing hides them otherwise your dad would have seen them. I can't imagine them being on your arms and always wearing long sleeves when you went to visit your dad.
I have had my ears pierced since I was a tiny baby! Then had them pierced again when I was in my thirties or early forties. The original ones closed up when I stopped wearing earrings. No tattoos, I sure am a square person and a nerd.

I almost have all the cams picked out for the new blog! The new setup is working great, with everything working much faster than before!

I see this is still the "tat talk" blog, lol! I can see why the military wants to put a limit on tattoos! A person out in the field overseas could offend someone!

Add: I'm staying over four more hours, so that's why I'm still here!

Yeah, the military has cracked down on them a lot in the past few years.

The military didn't seem to have a problem with tattoos in the past but back then, it was usually just one or two on the chest or shoulder, related to their branch of service or the occasional pin up and not everyone got tattooed. The various branches of the military seemed to take the attitude of 'Boys will be boys.'

I think it's the recent move towards sleeves, leggings, full chest and back ink, not to mention some of the subject matter (which might or might not be gang/prison related), and the fact that so many are getting tattooed is what the military finds objectionable and not in line with their ethos.

Oh, just in case anyone is thinking of getting a tattoo and you are over 40, make sure the skin is firm where you get it done. As we get older the top layers break down and the ink will tend to spread.

That's something I've been having to watch. I've a limited number of suitable places that can still take ink. My skin is starting to get thin and papery in spots.

LOL

And if you get one when you are younger, make sure it is not in a place that is likely to bulge or sag. Otherwise your beautiful eagle may end up looking like a turkey when you are older.

Good morning! Drove to work in a steady rain; by the time I got here, it had nearly stopped. Now, it's just humid as heck! Supposed to have a chance for scattered stuff most of the day!

Milos is still down; no word on why, or when it will be back. I just hope Jean-Marie is on vacation somewhere, and fixes it when he gets back!

I'll do some more cam searching today; I have my lead picked out. The other great cam I found the other day will wait until the next blog!

No skulls, bones, bloody daggers or sinking ships on the chest. No roses, butterflies, bluebirds of happiness, either.

We have an anti-visible tat policy at work, though you'd never know it, to walk in my office. They're everywhere you look. It's the women, too; not the men. Our departmental management just has never bothered to enforce the policy.

In fact, my director has seen mine and she thought they were cool. I don't think she has any, herself, but I might be wrong. She could be keeping quiet, due to her position.

Poor Dad would have been hurt and bewildered, if he'd known, which was the main reason I've kept quiet about mine here for the past 5 years. I didn't want anyone to unintentionally let it slip out.

Nevermind...I don't want to know the answer to the question that was forming.

He's "mobile": Paris, London, you name it. So far I haven't seen much activity in the U.S.
When he was starting the Tattoo thing he told us we could get anything we wanted done.
Tloml got a small bracelet but I only wanted the periodic table on my left fore arm so I could use it as a cheat sheet for chemistry exams (about 5 decades late).

What?! Bug has tattoes?! Wow my friend!

Hi Ylee. I thought that it was time to come and visit you. Some lovely views on your cam at the moment. I like the man fishing in Wellington, NZ, the stormy sky at the Manaro Volcano, the Laur T.... going through the locks, the sunset in Greece, etc.
Not much new here. As usual I manage to waste my time by daydreaming, watching birds, some reading,..... and even a little painting. Tomorrow we have a Lollapalooza (whatever the word means) at my neighbor's house. Frankly I hate parties, I always have! But I like the neighbors so we will visit and eat for a short while. I just sent hubby out to go buy a big tray of veggies and dip to bring. I did bake some cookies today but then decided to keep them for us and just bring veggies. Of course, I may change my mind and bring both goodies.

I hope that you are well and that work is going fine. I will scroll up in a moment and try to catch up.

Hi Ylee,

Surprise, I know I don't get here as often as I should but I do appreciate seeing your comments on my blog.

So glad you still have your web cams going.

Been busy with family stuff lately...
my Dad, Papa Joe turns 80 next May 24th....and we are having a party for him...was going to try and surprise him but that is hard to do since ... just trust me hard to do...

so he knows some of us like Stacey and m e and my brother and his brothers and sisters etc are coming.

but he does not know all my kids and grands are coming and a lot of my cousins, his nieces and nephews and other grands and great grands are coming.

so trying to make a lot of arrangements, since it is Memorial Day Weekend and doing it on Enid Lake at one of the State Parks there, it will be sold out soon..

taking a breath now....lol..

So your area is pretty wet also huh?

Just wanted to say have a great weekend!
