Canada is our best neighbor, and at present they have over 130 cams in the WU directory, but in general, conditions there in the winter months are not conductive for good cam viewing! Now that spring is well on its way, views are no longer showing ice, snow, and gray skies!
The Bay of Fundy has one of the largest tides in the world; it'll be interesting to see how much the ships in the leadoff cam go up and down with the tide!

Good morning Ylee.
The dresser drawer bottomoms were just held from moviving back out of the front supporting rail by 3 small nails. There now glued in place in addition to the the orignal nails. They should outlast me. :)
Enjoy the day.

Hi, Pros! I still owe you a post on your blog! Circumstances has prevented me from doing so so far, but hopefully if the new blog won't poof on me again, I'll be able to get on the boss' computer upstairs and find what I need!

The pelican was in shadow when you posted earlier; sometimes cams can't pick up things as well as the eye can! Have a good night!

Trauma, I don't want my night to pass slowly, at least not until I get the new blog done, lol! Then it can fly by!

Hi Ylee. This is the first time that I have seen anything happening in the Santorini camera. There is a moored sailed boat in the water! Where did the white fake bird go?

I need to read back to find out what you have been up to these last few days, I have not been visiting blogs and as usual have missed a lot.

I did read about your page having one poof! I understand your frustrations, the same has happened to me so many times... Truly aggravating, especially when you have put so much time into what disappears.

Take care

Well, the new blog went poof! :P I was on cam no.8, with the end in sight, when I typed f, r, o, then spacebar by accident instead of m. When I did that, the page went back one, for some reason, losing everything! :((

Hey, Trauma! Me, I think I have about 11 to go, since I'm staying until 11 this morning!

Shore, that dot may be an inside light source; it's cloudy there this morning!

No, that can't be Venus. I was in the wrong part of the world, and it's sunrise going on over there now, not sunset! So.... I could go find a sky almanac and figgur it out. Or, I could just say, that sure was pretty! And now we're going to have a nice sunrise!

Do we know which direction the camera's pointed? It might be Vega.

Good evening! 2 1/2 hours on the floor running around in circles is NOT the way to begin the night! This have calmed down quite a bit, so hopefully I can get the new blog up!

Lots of storms above I64, but nothing down here, even though the air is heavy, and ripe to do something.

Hi, Alley! When you have to take several prescriptions at the same time, it's like a juggling act, isn't it? I hope the Doc can figure out a better way for you!

After I get caught up here and have some lunch, I'll put my extra time on the new blog!

Good evening Ylee...just saw a man with 2 dogs walking along the beach in the NZ cam...not a whole lot going on with the other cams though. Spent most of the afternoon and evening in bed...Had a good nap then got up, ate some dinner and went back to bed to read. Just put the book down to see what was happening on here before I head back to my nice warm sleep sack...LOL Hope you have had a good day and that tonite proves to be an easy one for you. Have to do a 12 hr fasting on Sunday night so I can go and get some blood work done Monday that the doc ordered today. Oh what fun. He also scolded me for not going to the Emerg when I had the bout of pancreatitis a couple of weeks ago. But like I say, if he is not on duty that night, its not much use as they don't know my history so its a waste of time to lay in a bed while they guess at what is wrong with me....I can do the same here.

Anyway, have a great night, hope its a quiet one for ya....catch ya later, alligator....

You may have a point, Briar. I was assuming the persons in question were thinking beyond "Must be lazy. Avoid work." :)

So you got nickel-to-quarter size hail? And your newly set-out tomato plants are fine?? Maybe it only hailed in your front yard??? Sounds like you got lucky, cuz I'm pretty sure quarter size hail could do some damage.

thinking about the thought processes of the others sounds like you might be making some assumptions about things that might not necessarily be true. Do you have proof that there are any thought processes happening that might call for you to think about? Remember, we only have just so many "thinks". That being the case, I'm of the philosophy that there needs to be a daily "think" quota so you don't run out of "thinks" before you die. Think about it !-)

ycd, maybe it was better that you didn't pick their brains! :) I can't read the articles here, but I'll bet their lives weren't easy!

As far as I know, there are only two webcams in Milos(the other is at the port in Adamas), so I don't think there's much competition there, lol! I figured we hadn't hurt the traffic there, that's for sure!

Trauma, nickel-sized hail sure was interesting, lol!

Alley, everything's fine here, but when that hail first hit I sure was surprised! There was a small line of weakening storms(so I thought) in Ill. when I went to bed at 11:30.

Hi, Tony! That would be a neat feature, if anyone could figure out how to do that! Best I can come up with(using Windows 7) is to put the files and program shortcut icons on your taskbar, fix it so that it auto-hides, then maximize your browser and fix the cam image where it takes up all the space in the browser.

Gamma, I'm not that young, but I'm not afraid to work, either! :) We Americans have almost completely forgotten that we used to work 12 hours a day just to survive!

Ogal, I've never been much of a "Derby person". I've only seen the race on TV, and not every year. Don't have any itch to go, either!

GG, all that heat in Texas is just crazy! Hope it goes away soon!

Pros, Itry to take care of myself, but I can always do better! Working long hours is as much mental as it is physical. Most of the time I don't think about how many hours I'm working, I just concentrate on what I'm doing at the time. If I start to get tired, I've learned to conserve my energy to tackle the trickier bits of my day, and try to take breaks more often!

Take care of yourself if you're out in the rain; don't catch a cold!

Hiya Todd! It's past noon, I'm just getting to where I'm saying "Hiya, Todd!", lol!

Good morning! You know it's been a day at work when it's 10:30, and I'm just getting to the blogs! I won't bore you with the details, except to say that thinking about the thought processes of the others that work here causes a lot of head-scratching that I don't want to invest time and effort into, so I'm just going to drop it, and go on to more pleasurable efforts, like blogging, lol!

Last night about 2:30 I awoke to wind and heavy rain, with lots of lightning! I turned on the weather radio to find that we were under a severe Tstorm warning! About that time, we were greeted by the pock-pock-pock sound of hail hittng the house! Opened the front door(we have a glass exterior door also) and saw fairly heavy nickel-to-quarter sized hail coming down! This lasted about five minutes, along with heavy rain! After the hail stopped, We had decent lightning and more rain for the next half hour. Morning came, and a check around the house and yard revealed no damage to the newly set tomato plants, or anything else, except for a small limb out of one of our big maples.

WU cams are back up to snuff; I had hoped to start here earlier in the day, but work prevented that. I'll probably get serious work started on the new blog tomorrow night!

Replies to ya'll on the next post!

Good morning Ylee. That's a long work day! You must be in excellent health to handle so many hours of work at any given time.

We have a rainy day, again. We need the rain but I cannot stand the gloominess of a rainy day. I am about to go outside to take some photos of flowers in the rain... I need one of those umbrellas that sit on your head!

I hope that you have a pleasant Thursday.

Good morning YLee, things are going well for Tampa son. He is producting th six o'clock news all this week. They are moving him around but all the aviation news is his to write and there has been a lot. His new digs are great. It is amazing to be treated so well after such horrible airline treatment. The four to five hour sits in airports with not getting paid is unbelievable.

Hope all is well with you in Kentucky. Derby coming up. One of my favorites to watch. Son loved seeing all the magnificent planes that were parked at the airport in Lville.

It is strange weather everywhere.
i did brave the winds yesterday with Abbey but cut the walk short. I have a 1/2 mile leg on my trek that would have briught me face on with the wind.
I'd like to find a way to sync my background with one of your webcams. it would be interesting to see the changes every time I looked at the computer.
Enjoy th day.

Ycd, Here is a link to Andreas' boat. Looking at it a little more, I don't think it's the same boat. Andreas doesn't use his boat for commercial fishing, either, and you're absolutely right about that not being a working boat in the bay. I didn't realize that it had been there that long!

Looked at the Milos cam regarding the function of the boat at anchor. Sun is still up in the latest image but light level is low. I went to the Milos web cam site and could not find the particular image there. When I first saw the boat a few days ago I pinned it as a pleasure craft - not a working boat. I'll check back when the dawn light comes back there. A working fish boat would be unlikely to sit at anchor for long.

Good morning! The morning has started of really nice, weather-wise; sunny, with the temps forecast to be in the 70s! However, we may have a chance of Tstorms later this evening, with more to come in the next few days! I;m not complaining much, as we need the rain!

Going to start a new blog tomorrow, although I may not finish it until Friday night! I already have my lead cam picked out; I've used it before, but I haven't used it for awhile, and that's all I'm going to say about that! :)

Alley, I like the phrase "No rest for the weary." better, lol!

Hi, Tony! Hope you have a nice day, too!

Trauma, Sandi, Alley: That's a fishing boat at anchor out in the bay, I believe(Shore or another of the "boat people" can help ID it.). It could be the one owned by Andreas, one of the folks who rents rooms in the neighborhood!

Howdy, Mark! I like the Ranchero cam, but as with most of the cams here, it'll be replaced when the new blog comes out! You can always go to the webcam directory to see it or pull up this blog from the archives!

sp, posting of cams to WU appears to be mostly automated, with just a little "spring cleaning" every once in awhile! Alley found a Panama Canal cam that's in the Florida webcam directory! Cutting corners produces an inferior product, no matter what's involved!

Today is suppose to be nice, lots of sunshine, the wind has finally died down, grass is smiling as it knows it will get a haircut today....jeeze, no rest for the wicked I guess.

I did finally see a truck on the move on Hidanosato Street (the "pottery" cam) the other day. Thought I saw a human this morning but it is a street sign, LOL
It hasn't updated in quite awhile.
The owner of that camera has the longitude-latitude info entered incorrectly, or something, and the cam does not show up on wundermap. It's very pretty, though - mountain-y looking.
The snow scenes in your last two comments seems wrong! Hope it gets more Springish soon, for them and for you, Ylee.

As Alley said, Shenandoah got some snow last night! Here's how the Big Meadows cam looks today!

Trauma, was get some rest! :)

Alley, it's warming up here, too, unlike Virginia! Supposed to have a chance of rain off and on for the rest of the week!

Pros, I just do this stuff here at work. My plate is full enough at home! :)

Sandi, that Heidi pic would make a good avatar for you, lol! If we actually had a pottery cam, it would be based in Trinidad! :)

About Ylee

I live and work in metropolitan Lewisport, KY. I like webcams, through which I can see the whole world!
