Fire and ice: Elemental opposites, they are rarely seen coexisting, especially in the world of webcams. However, there are exceptions, and probably the best known worldwide is Mt. Etna, in Sicily. This volcano has the longest recorded history of eruptions, going back at least 3500 years, and scientists have estimated the volcano has been erupting for over 300,000 years, rising out of the Mediterranean. For the time being, with the cold and snow covering Europe, Etna is blanketed with white, all the while steaming and waiting for the next opportunity to erupt.

Good Morning Ylee!

Sure glad I don't have a job where I can get called in anymore.
Have Pea Soup fog here this am. At least it's Saturday and Angie doesn't have to try to get to work in it.

Good evening! Was called in tonight, and I'm also coming in tomorrow, but I'm not working my regular job. Therefore, I don't have access to the computer that has all the stuff saved to make the new blog. I'm also hamstrung by this computer I'm using, which is even slower than the one I normally use! However, I shall soldier on, and make the best of it! :)

Hi, bug, there was no demon in my case, just a goob(me) who was trying to do two things at once and made a critical mistake!

Sounds to me like there's a demon running around, possessing blogs!

I see Etna is steaming a bit.

Well, Sandi, WU couldn't save the new blog; as usual, had some dipstick talking nonsense while I was trying to hurry up and finish, and in my haste instead of hitting back on the page I needed to, I hit back on the new blog page, losing the whole goldarned thing!(Sanitized for family perusal) Anyway, it's time to go home, and therefore, no new blog! :P

If I don't make it back here until Tuesday, everyone have a good weekend!

Morning /evening

How many car engines are you removing this weekend? lol

Managed to capture a sunrise today - which was good, as ten minutes later it was grey and covered in cloud!

Re the comment in my blog... All I saw was the title of the blog and the words "This blog has been deleted" .... which of course it was.
But your comment is probably true, as I once came across a blog of mine translated into Spanish and still there after I had deleted it! Yikes!!!

Have a great weekend:)

Good evening! Last night for me this week! Might not be back until Tuesday this time, we'll see about the OT.

I think I'll try and get a new blog up tonight. Since I may not be back for awhile, I don't want the blog going for another four days without something new to see, so thus the change.

Glad you finally saw the Tetons today, Pros!

Alley, you're going to get some snow? Hope it's not too much! I'm ready for spring to get started; it's been teasing long enough! :)

Evenin' Todd!

Thanks for the link, LC! Are they not similar to the ones at KSC's video feeds? I'll have to check it out!

Sandi, I don't understand why the Teton cam would give you trouble. Size-wise, it's not the largest cam on here. The San Diego cam is about 300k in size, making it the largest bandwidth hog of the bunch, Teton clocks in at 38k right now, which is normal, since it's dark, and most of the pixels are black, but I can't imagine it being more than 200-250k at most. The NPS is fairly stingy with bandwidth, as more bandwidth costs money, and they have a tight budget. Maybe something else is creating the logjam?

Does anyone else have a problem with the Teton cam loading slowly? If so, please let me know!

If I have time, I may do a new blog tomorrow. If I don't, I may just change the Teton cam out.

Did you see the market in the courtyard at Zatec?

Hi Ylee,

Grey and overcast here, I would like some blue sky :(

Can I ask a favour? If you get OT and chance to update the cams, would it be possible to replace the Grand Teton cam with something else?
I don't know about anyone else, but that one really slows down my little net book. Every time I scroll down to get to the comments that cam stops me, and sticks on the screen for a good few seconds before it allows me to continue my journey. ..... But I do persevere, 'cos your blog comments are worth it:)

Trauma, even as I type, I'm drinking the Hard Stuff; whole vitamin D milk, straight! :)

Reno, that's a great idea, especially the pretzels! I love those! I guarantee those treats were cheaper to make than the 10 oz pot-o-gold my wife bought me for $15! If I was buying it for myself, I would have balked, even at half price! :)

Hi Ylee, just dropped by to see if you had any of the leftover Valentine Chocolates. Sure couldn't find any good ones this year, even at full price so grandpa here made home made peanut clusters and chocolate covered pretzels for the grandkids. They thought I was kool - I might never buy a heart candy again.

Shore, I see it too! It's white like a cruise ship, but it doesn't have any levels on it like one. It's probably a container ship, as you said! You can always click on the link above and look at the big version of the pic!
Pollonia is a sleepy little town on a backwater island, far from the action of the big city! Sorta like Lewisport, only with a beach and a stone pelican! :)

Wow! Big ship in the San Diego channel. It looks like a car carrier, actually. Maybe containers. It's cool to see a real ship, though!

I was wondering if all the hoopla in Greece might have affected the Pollonia cam. I went looking last night and it seems all the rioting was in Athens proper, so I don't think so. I have seen localized events a couple of times on the internet traffic report, but they aren't showing anything.

Good evening! Rainy night in old Kaintuck, temps will be hovering in the mid 40s tonight!

Cams are down to San Diego and Adelaide this evening, with the European cams popping in by midnight! If the stars align themselves perfectly, I may do a new blog tomorrow night, but a lot of it depends on the OT situation.

Hey, Trauma! According to my fingers, you have one more night, am I correct? Glad to see you're warming up!

Sandi, more snow for the weekend? Whenever will you have time to wash the little orange buggy? :(

Hi, Alley, it's great to see you have your regular blog up! You're doing good work there; Don't anyone tell you otherwise without you giving them both barrels back!

Pros, glad for you that you finally have seen the top of Etna! I'm sure you've seen it many times in person, yes?

I don't know what happemed in the half hour between your and Pros' posts ycd! Those clouds must've moved quick!

Evenin' Todd! Hope everything's doing good!

Hi, bug! At noon local time today I was helping my nephew switch out a car engine; yeah, sure, you betcha! :)

Good morning Ylee. I see the Etna cam is showing clear skies today, I guess the ash cloud and steam has finely dissipated. Zatec is finally free of snow so I guess Europe is starting to warm up again. Its been a rough winter for those poor folks.

Anyway, just wanted to say THANK YOU for your support regarding that crap yesterday on FB. I have been wondering why he was such a jerk about it, perhaps his MUG SHOT is on the list...LOL

Anyway dear one, have a great day. Catch yo tomorrow.

Hi there,

What a clear morning in Milos - and the snow has gone in Zatec.
Yes, there do seem to be a lot of little sails boats on the horizon in Adelaide.

How many nights are you doing?

Good morning! After a messy winter night, I awoke to 1/2" of slush and clear roads, so the kids had to go to school! :) The rest of the slush will be washed away with the rain we're supposed to get today, as well as the 40F high temps!

Cloudy skies prevails on the cams this morning; the only thing of interest is a deer on the other side of the lake in Bristol!

Morning, Alley! Did the kitties get any Valentines' goodies this morning?

Sandi, WU must think everything you take is gold, and with good reason! :)

Hi, GG, I recognize that as your avatar photo. WU photos I can see! You can tell by the photo they love their mama! :)

Hi, ycd, solar panels are more tempting all the time for use as peripherals, although I think DHaupt actually has a larger grid supplanting his own house power. From time to time (once a week or so) I go upstairs to the supervisor's office to check on the hit counter and visitor map, and your neck of the woods is one of the most frequent visitors! There are frequent visitors that never post anything; and I'm fine with that. If they are enjoying the cams, then mission accomplished! :)

Back to the ole grind, Trauma? We got a whole half inch last night! The kids didn't care for that one bit! :) I'll be back on nights tomorrow night to keep you and all the other night owls(except for Sandi, she'd a morning owl!) company!

Hi, Karen! Glad you guys got some rain! Homemade soup sounds good; I'll have to make do at work with some leftover roast and potatoes my wife made last night! Better than tuna sandwiches, for sure! :)
