Did you know that you can see WunderPhotos on the WunderMap?

The WunderPhotos that have been uploaded and approved on our site can now be viewed in the geographical location that the photographer claimed the photo was taken.

The default settings show 25 photos that were taken Today -- and yes, you can increase that number up to 50, and choose a different date.

Additionally, there are controls to:

  • show photos from an entire month, as opposed to a specific day. (In
this case, VIP and Approver's choice photos are given priority).

  • show photos from a certain category

  • show photos that were taken by a certain member ('handle')

On the WunderMap, enable the "Photos" layer in the Map Controls, here.

As usual, if you want to report an issue, please create a problem ticket in the support system.

Hey all - thank you so much for your feedback regarding the site-wide alerts beta. FYI - We're now pulling it back for the time being in order to work on it more efficiently offline.

What happened to the old version of weather underground? I want to check on my weather now, and not have to spend 10 minutes trying to find it. Information overload. Bring back the old version.

The "old version" is still here.

Simply type in: classic.wunderground.com

They just went back to the old version (they had a new version of the comment box, where instead of showing HTML code, you could see the formatting just as it would display in the actual comment).

That said, I can't get a link to display still (the code works, but when I preview, I only see the text as normal text no hyperlink or highlighting, even if I try to manually add a link in). Also, the popup when quoting a comment is annoying, at least I get one, displaying to comment with the quote code.

Impact gives human input a relative importance rating to the machine generated content. It's how we sort things. We'll use Caster for site status announcements and new products as well as weather information.

Yes, click the pause button represented by two parallel vertical lines in between the up and down arrows on the right side of the Caster scroll. It will set a cookie that stops the animation.

could we may be see a new blog some day???

The little weather alert widget at the top is neat, but I dislike animations in web pages. Is there a way to permanently turn it off?

Hi WU -

I love some of the new features on the photos page....especially the ability for viewers to post comments. The only thing I would like to see changed is the ability to see more thumbnails on the page when viewing the different galleries. It seems they got squished together due to inserting ads. I'm sure the ads are a great source of revenue, but can we get the bigger thumbnail viewing area back that we had before?

Thanks and keep up the great work.

The new look is EXCELLENT and so far, all new approaches, including the WunderPhotoBOT (*LOVE* THAT NAME!) has been faithful in letting photographer's know when someone has commented on their shots! Thanks, all WunderPhotoAdmin and Developer's, for all your hard work in getting this up and running so smoothly, so fast!

I like it, too! The photos show much better without that bulky frame around them.
The series thumbnails weren't where I expected - they are at the bottom, below the comment section, which is also an awesome idea! Being able to comment instead of wumail a photog without a blog is great :)

Hi! I can not find any info on how to set up a weather station to be used by the website "weather underground" promoting this blog as "developers blog".

I found a place just down the road from me, on this weather underground, with webcam and detailed maping of everything to do with the weather.

I would like to participate and set up another weather station, but do not know how.

Please advise, thanks chris
