I have been working on creating my website for about a week now since I bought my domain name. I have assembled several pages, and just fifteen minutes ago I published it. Now millions across the globe have access to it. Feels good to own your own .com
The new Site is michigansnowchaser.com

Thanksgiving Day 2009
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. This year I have a lot to be thankful for, an example of that would be how snow chances are beginning to increase for next week (Thursdayish). Another thin I have to be thankful for is that the Great Lakes area could see their first dusting of snow tonight/tomorrow morning. More importantly I am thankful to have a fast computer to track it.
As far as today and tonight go for the Great Lakes area, we are looking at wet conditions for most, with further north locations, and locations with higher elevations starting to mix with snow by the end of the day. Tonight the NWS is forecasting a dusting for some, with up to an inch for others. These are minuscule amounts, but at this point in the season, beggars can't be choosers. Friday could yield some snow showers for most locations across the Western Lakes. Even the major cities like Detroit and Cleavland shoud see the flakes starting to fly at some point. The brisk westerly winds that will be developing will enhance the backside of the storm system that is exiting the area. These snow showers should stay on the light side, but another coating is not out of the question. Areas ten or twenty mies east of the Lakes could see an inch or two Friday morning, adding inconvenience to all those crazy Black Friday shoppers.
Here is a picture I took last Thanksgiving weekend, dont get your hopes up, but have hope...

Next Week is starting to look a lot more interesting after taking a gander at the 06z GFS. I have been following that model consistently, and as many of you know from reading my blog, that is my favorite model to follow. Of course I take a look at the other forecast models, with my other two favorites being the Euro and the NAM. The GFS has been showing a storm for about a week now that would travel up the westward end of the Ohio Valley and bring snow to areas along the northwest flank, and Lake Effect Snow to the Great Lakes after it passes. This storm has the power to cause some decently heavy lake effect. Anyways, it is still about a week out, and for now we will have to just wait and see.

The weather is finally taking a turn to colder conditions, and with cold weather comes snow. So here I am, ready for action, salivating over the possibility of a couple of flakes. Here is some preliminary information on the possible snow. As the "event" draws closer, I will be putting out additional information, as well as posting with more frequency. -Winterstormsblog________________________________Local NWS Forecast Discussions Concerning the Possibili...

Winds in excess of 60 and even 70 mph are occurring with this line. This line of storms is eventually going to weaken as it heads southeastward this morning. This afternoon, an area of severe storms along and south of a warm front from Iowa to Ohio will break out. These storms will become more organ...
