March 23, '01 noonish

Looks like the rain is probably done for the season. I am afraid all we can do now is hope for some decent summer rain - which is not common.

The weather is really settling down now, it's been 15 days now and no rain and it is not looking good for the rest of March (typically our wettest month, typically - just not recently). We will be way short for March average. Looks like we will be bouncing around upper 60's to mid 70's for highs and around 50 for overnight lows.

There is some moisture in the mid Pacific but it is not moving much and does not seem significant - much like this the last patch of moisture that finally made it here over yesterday without any precip.

Fortunately, there is Molly and McGee and brood to watch at TheOwlBox (http://www.ustream.tv/theowlbox)Link, a local birdwatcher hitting it big online - go Carlos and Donna, nice job!

Rain is moving back into our picture - and I see it moved out of yours. But, looks like you might have a chance to add to your March total if you hurry with possible rain next midweek? We have had some terrific days - hitting low 70's a couple of times, then the next day isn't so great, but a pattern shift to wetter and cooler is nearly upon us. Closer to traditional March weather. Have you made it to Borrego Springs yet? The deserts sound like a pretty nice place to visit right about now. The wildflowers should be wonderful and some extended real warmth and sunshine sound very inviting to me, since summer was a long time ago now here.
