February begins with a bang

A nice, sustained snow storm coming across the Midwest will help us get closer to our annual snowfall totals, which until now has been lacking. In January my location received 14.75 inches of snow, but at no time did more than 2 inches fall at one time. In total, it snowed on 13 days in January. February is already a different story. Season high broken again

At 1:15 today we reached 76.3 degrees at my location, the highest temperature so far in 2014. If we can get some sun this afternoon, we have a shot at perhaps another degree or two higher.

Snow follows warm-up

Overnight we had three inches of snow fall at my location here in Lyndon Township. Not unheard of to have snow this time in April, but it is kind of a let down after hitting 75 degrees on Sunday. The new snow in the area did put both Detroit and Flint in the record books. This season is now the snowiest in Detroit history with 94.8 inches, far beyond the normal 42.5 inches. Highest temperature of the year so far

The temperature finally made it into the 70s today, rising to 74.9 degrees this afternoon at my location.

New Davis weather station now online

On April 10, 2014 I was finally successful in linking my Davis weather station information to The Weather Underground. It's working well, but due to our sporadic Sprint Wireless Internet, there will be times when the station is offline.
