The recent noreaster storm death count is now up to atleast 16. Between the storm & the shooting in VA, it's been a sad few days.

Updated April 16th~ The CPC weekly is out.

The Jan, Feb, Mar average was +.3 which brings us to offical neutral.

As for the week we had a bit of warming in nearly all the regions. This is good, comforting to see a trend up or down in a jagged, up & down way, like history dictates instead of the insane drops we've witnessed lately.

Anomilies are -.2 in regions 3, .2 in region 3,4. -1.1 in region 1,2. And +.3 in region 4. Overall for the week it went up .1 in region 1,2 ~ Region 3 went up .4~ The central & western Pacific in regions 3,4 (up .1) & 4 stayed the about the same. The cold water up wells in the East & then travels west.

CPC Synopsis: A transition from ENSO-neutral to La Nia conditions is possible during the next 3 months. Same as last 4 weeks.
The # that counts is region 3&4, that principal (now) # .2, same as last week, now conditions are neutral.

The ESPI rose from -.96 to -.60 for the last weeks for the last 30 days.

We may see a little more warming of ENSO in the next few weeks. Plenty of cold water under there, don't expect an escape from Neutral.

Michael~ The blob put up a dark blue just to spite the update posted by LowerCal. Thanks for keeping up with it.

MJO isn't really on it's side. Looks to have recently helped out the Noreaster, now posed in the middle, wonder which way it wil go next??

"Footprints in the Sand"

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was
walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the
sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he
noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one
belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When
the last scene of his life flashed before him, he
looked back at the footprints in the sand. He
noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed
that it happened at the very lowest and saddest
times in his life. This really bothered him and he
questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, You said that
once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all
the way. But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life, there is only one set
of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed
you most you would leave me." The Lord replied,
"My son, My precious child, I love you and I would
never leave you. During your times of trial and
suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it
was then that I Carried You."

'03~ You've returned:)

Ogal~ Yeah that storm has killed 11 so far.

Rays~ Thanks, you tipped me off to the tragity in time to catch it on the news. I was mostly outside today.

I'll move the candle up when I update, probibly in the morning. I'm sleepy. EPAC looks interesting but not even a decent quickscat pass to check out. Beyond that there's not much tropically to look at.

This one gets some candle shine from me.

FERNDALE - High winds toppled a flagpole at an elementary school on Monday, killing a kindergartner, a school spokeswoman said.

The accident happened at Roosevelt Primary School in Detroit's northern suburbs.

Schools spokeswoman Stephanie Hall said she could not release further details because the child's father had not yet been notified.

No others were hurt, Hall said.

Winds in the area were blowing out of the northeast at about 25 mph, with gusts near 40, the National Weather Service said.

psualum95~ Lucky, got a little more rain. Though guess were kinda jipped last time. This one was pretty quick moving. Got down to 1006mb here, beautiful & breezy now. Airing the house.

Too bad about Polk. Figured with the number of tornado warnings we'd see some damage somewhere.

I see an anomometer was lost as well.

Dundee, Polk County.

Tornado, reported by law enforcement.

Update number 2... police chief reported preliminary
damage to awnings... carports... roof portions to 14 Mobile
homes. Of the 14 homes... 6 of them were uninhabitable as
parts or all of their roofs were removed. Some power
lines were also down. Time also adjusted to around 1100
am based on this report and radar data.

Had .39 of an inch of rain here, the worst of it was 10 miles south of here in Dundee. I was working only 5 miles from the tornado, but was in the mall.

Good Morning everyone. Hope the locals have secured their small stuff & closed the car windows.

The yucatan blob was the 3rd night of Diurnal Heating. Where the heat retained from the land is released to the cooler night sky, causing rain. There is also a low there that helps out the whole night storm. The front has drug a good bit of that energy toward FL. Check out the Rainbow Loop, that's some enhanched stormage about to hit Tampa Bay area.

Mornin Skye, the blob in the Yucatan is interesting but like you said shear is high. As Tampa Tom says, "Cheer Shear"!

I think we may get some pretty good wind this morning but I don't think anything severe. Just want more of that happy rain.

Hope all is well at your house. Have a good Sunday.

Let's hope not Skye! Been watching that myself, it's not getting too much attention. It, as you said, could really raise the bar tomorrow for Central and South Florida!

All the new tools! With a baby on the way I find it hard to get time to utilize the new gadgets. I will have to stick with the old faithfuls this year. Good to see someone is on top of the latest technology around here! Your work is greatly appreciated.

Nextsat has the blob pretty high clouded (blue)

if ya play in the steering current interactive up there. High clouds would be swept S of FL where mid & lower would be more central & S FL. If this blob comes into play, it may get really nasty. That thing has been building like mad.

Hard not to notice the blob over the Yucatan. Night before last there was one around there, yesterday night farther south, by morning they've been gone. Tonights has been the biggest faastest growing yet. Shear there is 20-30kts & ↓. I imagine the front will grab it or what's left of it.

The shower is here.
