Shades Of Aqua

I have been so busy with life that I forgot I even had a blog started here on wunderground.

Since my last entry I have moved to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Quite a change from living on the beach!

The BP oil spill was the deal-breaker for beach life for us. Since our house was literally Gulf front, with only about 75 yards of sand between my deck and the water, life became a constant worry and simply not worth risking when other beautiful places were available to live.

As a young married couple...way back in the day...my husband and I both wanted to live in the mountains and on the Gulf coast. At that time we lived in south Louisiana and had lived there for most of our lives. When the time seemed right we decided to make our big move to Panama City Beach, FL. Well, we had 6 wonderful years on the coast, so now we are on dream #2 and in the mountains!

I'll update when time permits. I'm involved right now in planning and preparing my garden. I have never had a real garden before, so this is a major undertaking for me!

This is the last weekend of freedom for the school teachers in my area. I took full advantage of the weekend to spend some quality time with my family. Monday begins with back-to-school shopping for my youngest son (he attends the middle school where I teach). Tuesday will be shopping with my daugh...

I am a middle school teacher. Over the past few years I have taken some wonderful classes on the subject of integrating technology in the classroom. I use as much as possible in my classes. In fact, when I was teaching Science, WU was one of the sites I used in class for teaching weather. This is way off the weather topic, but something I ran across while doing some research earlier and thought some of you might appreciate viewing it.

I have read the blogs here at Weather Underground for the past few years trying to learn more about weather (especially hurricanes).I moved to the beach along the Florida Panhandle about two months before Hurricane Ivan and found it suddenly very important to learn about hurricanes in a hurry!I live in the A evacuation zone, so my family headed for Tallahassee as Ivan approached. While there, a fellow evacuee told me about Weather Underground and I've been a devote...
