Southeast Texas

It's been beautiful in Southeast Texas this week. Outdoor activities in this area will find weekend weather fantastically favorable.

It's a three-day week-end for some workers and some schools. Great day for the parades, the Houston Marathon, and locally, our festival on Monday. This year, the festival will feature dancers and music from the Polynesian Dancers, the Alabama Coushatta, and other performers.

Does anyone out there recall the December freezes in 1983 and 1989 and the big snow in 2008?

I'm ready for some seed catalogs.

It doesn't take me long to be tired of winter. The first frost will usually do it. I'm glad the recent cold snap has come and gone. BUT, don't put the coat away. This January thaw will be over, and we can expect a few more blue northers before it's all over.

Did you ever notice here in East Texas, even though every thing was frozen a few days ago, a little sun, some rain, and the grass is putting up again.

So just hang your coat on the mo...
