No Tea For Me

As we embark upon this Memorial Day Weekend, I thought a quote from one of our founding fathers and war heroes was in order. It's funny in a sad way that our first President would be considered a liberal today. Enjoy your weekend.

The foundation of our Empire was not laid in the gloomy age of Ignorance and Superstition, but at an Epocha when the rights of mankind were better understood and more clearly defined, than at any former period, the researches of the human mind, after social happiness, have been carried to a great extent, the Treasures of knowledge, acquired by the labours of Philosophers, Sages and Legislatures, through a long succession of years, are laid open for our use, and their collected wisdom may be happily applied in the Establishment of our forms of Government…” A theocratic or tribalist Right that argues for public policies by invoking divine revelation to some ancient prophet or immemorial custom dating back to “the gloomy age of Ignorance and Superstition,” is profoundly, radically un-American.

Gen. George Washington

First let me say that I am not an expert on climate change. I only know that our temperatures are getting warmer and if they continue to do so we will all have to change what is "normal" for us. So, I do not know for certain that this warming trend is manmade or a natural recurring cycle and that nothing man can do will change what will happen. The reason I mention this is that Climate Change, or better stated, the lack thereof is a hot topic among the far right. It'...

When you read articles about the far right that show scientific proof they're prone to rascist thoughts and actions, it's a funny piece. That is, until we come to a climate where they feel it is socially accpetable to publicly spew their hate. Then it's quite sad.Levitt Triumphs Over Hate at GOP DebateDavid Levitt and other US Senate candidates for the California primary attended a Get to Know Your Candidates event on May 3rd, hosted by the San Mateo GOP at the Amer...

The far right love to claim that Obama is to Blame for the desperate increase in public debt held by our country. Even though graph after graph, facts after fact show this not to be the case. In that light I expect more facts and common sense to change little of their neanderthal beliefs because when all is said in done we will still have a President who is black and that is unacceptable to them. The following graphs will show, it wasn't bailouts nor a recession end...
