As a Republican who does not want the tea party dictating and controlling the Republican Party let me thank the great people of Iowa. Not only did they show that most Americans also do not align themselves with the tea party, two of the tea party twits have closed up shop and ran for the hills with their tails between their legs. Goodbye Perry and Bachman, may we not hear of you two again. Iowa said Newt who, as he could only garner 16 percent of the popular vote. Now on to New Hampshire where we can only hope we can say adieu to Newt and hopefully we'll hear a lot more from Huntsman.

Link Former aide to Wisconsin governor charged with fraud.MILWAUKEE (Reuters) - A former aide to Wisconsin's Republican Governor Scott Walker was charged with fraud on Thursday, accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from a fund for families of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The complaint accuses Tim Russell, who worked closely with Walker when he was Milwaukee County Executive, of diverting more than $21,000 to his personal bank account and using some of the money to go on Hawaiian and Caribbean vacations.

LinkAfter Santorum Left Senate, Familiar Hands Reached Out.In the years before he lost his Pennsylvania Senate seat in 2006, Rick Santorum worked hard to win hundreds of millions of dollars in additional Medicare money for hospitals in Puerto Rico.He sponsored at least two Senate bills and pushed to amend a mammoth Medicare overhaul to include the extra spending, which would have benefited Universal Health Services, a Pennsylvania-based hospital management company with facilities in Puerto Rico. If it seems at odds with the small-government philosophy Mr. Santorum now espouses in his presidential campaign, it was in line with his legislative efforts to help businesses in his state.

And some of those businesses were happy to return the favor.
