Hi Rob and all Arkers!

Wishing you and everyone a very safe and Happy 4th of July! It looks to be a real scorcher our way, so we will do our best to remain well hydrated (with water) and as cool as possible throughout. We sure don't need to add any heatstrokes to the list!

Happy Independence Day
and Good Morning to all and sundry.

Looks like Foxxy and Auburn taking a turn at getting soaked.

Pcola, I couldn't have said it any better.

Hope that you all have a really pleasant weekend. Gonna be cooking up some ribs, brats, hotdogs, etc for the feast this evening. Life is good.

Please don't call them rag heads when speaking to me.
Someone might infer that I think the same way. I don't.

Millions of Egyptians put there lives on the line to overthrow an extreme fundamentalist regime.

A prudent military stepped forward and saved untold bloodshed yesterday.

It ain't over by any means.

I am pleasantly impressed :)

Just had more rain and more on the way.
The killer fungus in the raised bed gardens is now
big enough to try and grab you when you walk by.
The fungicide we sprayed didn't even faze the stuff.
We are now going to "Solarize" the gardens to kill the
fungus. We are basicly going to fry the stuff to death.

You cover the entire garden for 4 weeks with clear plastic
tarps. Then till everything with a rotary tiller and
cover it again for another 4 weeks. Fries and burns
every living thing in the soil. Sorry night crawlers.
Every thing is toast!!!

Then of course you have to put some good stuff back in
there because even the dirt in there is dead.

Will try that Aug and Sep when the temps hit 100. :)

Just curious.
How will you approach gardening in the future?

Oh...nobody told you about the "Georgia Road Map" thingie?

Ever heard the expression, "His eyes looked like a Georgia Road Map"?

You think things are confusing now? You should have seen it before I-75, I-95, I-85 and Corridor Z.

It was like following animal trails.

:))

Yep... I get very confused here with the roads.

See things are almost on an even keel. We seem to be in a no rain zone after the 0.93 in in 20 min. Looks dry on the next 4 day guess, then wet again.

Used to cook soil at 220 F for 12-15 hrs but that was for ten gms. Then into the desiccator, so it cooled before we took dry weights. Think by the time a fella cooks the pee out of georgia clay, silt and worm poop he will have stuff that Pott would toss. Not to mention the deadly or noxious fumes that boil off the soil at < 220 F. Stuff gets like spade clay or harder given temp. If it has to go wet is better to a portable fire pit away from home.. Good land fill cover if wet. This is a better sol'n.

You're welcome, Snake knows stuff.

OK, read back, why does Shep have a barn full of poles?
And what kind of poles are they? Telephone poles?
Power poles? Although they do run telephone lines on
power poles here sometimes and they also run power
lines on telephone poles here sometimes too.

There is one more odd thing about Ga. Their signs are
all whacko. There will be a sign saying North I-75 on
the other side of the interstate but you wanted to go
south and there wasn't one there before you got to
the interstate so now you are already over the road
and you missed the turnoff to go south and the only
entrance where you are now is the one that goes North
so you have to drive a ways before you can turn around
and when you have turned around then you see a sign
saying South I-75 on that side of the interstate but
it should have been placed on the other side so drivers
coming up to the interstate wanting to go south could
go south without having to read this entire paragraph
in one breath. You know what I mean? Of course you do.

Have to go to work now, rain is coming this way fast.

Fortunately. A lot of them have "came peaceably" and the ol man is "somewhat detained" at an undisclosed location.

That's good progress so far.

Well, Shep, at least you have a facility. And by facility, I assume you mean something at least slightly more sophisticated than a lawn storage shed or pole barn...:O)

Good that you are starting on a postive note Shep, but sure makes it tough to read! How do you manage these things?

Good Mornin' Folks.

dunno.

Seems the consequences of creating advertising links to key words and phrases like swimming pools, Cadillac,  Harley Davidson, Remington, power boats, fishing rods, recipes, etc., has created a corruption in the quoting process.
Surely they know about it. But, whatever TWC wants I'm sure they can get.
Advertising dollars are more important than minor consequences. And even though it means more to us, the only thing any media enterprise cares about is funding.
Quite naturally, of course.

But then, I'm just a country boy with limited facility.

:)

True. There will likely be a spit with some electing to be more moderate and others becoming radicalized. Egypt has a very professional and well equipped military and hopefully they will be able to keep the peace during the transition. Hopefully we will give them the support they need to make that happen and to round up any extremist that would result to violence there or in other countries.

I believe that this is a good thing but realize that revolutions are seldom bloodless. It can't be any worse than the way that they have been headed.

Thanks NEw.

Big party in Egypt tonight as the military takes control away from the muslim brotherhood and prepares for new elections.

Good for them and good luck to them!

Hopefully, this will be the beginning of a "true" Arab spring.

Goodnight Snake.

Now that I've had a bit of fun...the real moral of the story, especially for you younger guys who can benefit from my mistakes:

Don't choose 'daddy's pampered princess'. Choose the one that daddy taught to be strong and independent. The one who supported herself and paid her own bills, who worked hard for everything she has.

She knows nothing is free and will appreciate even the little things you do for her instead of taking it all for granted.

And choose the one with the really big heart.

Took me too long and too much money to learn that.

Flood Watch from Wed to Fri. Just what we need. Now,
where did I put that vac hose that I duct taped to the
muffler pipe on the Ford Escape and ran it up to the
luggage rack and tied it off there. Drove thru a foot
of water just like a hummer with no problems at all.

Little thing only weighs 2700 pounds though, any more
than a foot of water it would probably float away. :)

We shall see what we shall see.

Wow. That was heavy man. Cool.

Whats happening to my language?

Is that what they call retro?

heh heh heh

Bed time Snake, say goodnight, goodnight.
