Welcome to The Ark

Any Sufficiently Advanced Technology is
Indistinguishable from
A really big gun!

So...there you go guys!
Have fun!

Got the idea from watching the movie 'Battleship'.
Never thought it was a great idea to be broadcasting our particulars to alien civilizations.

After all:

"Mad Science" means never stopping to ask "what's the worst thing that could happen?"

But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly...slowly

Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
you had a busy day today...

Goodnight friends.
-Hood out.

Gee Whiz, with my new job I seem to only be able to
get here at 3 or 4 in the morning before you guys are
even awake, or after everyone has gone to sleep.

I may have to reconsider this working business. :)

Its time for me to go horizontal myself.

See you marinara.

Nine Pound Ham?
How about a Nine Pound Hammer?

My first Chet Atkins song on guitar.
Practicing this one every day for a couple of months and learning it could well have been responsible for my divorce.
Oh well. Had to end eventually. Might as well have been for a good cause.

Ahhhh, see Pottery, you ask the wrong question. What you should be asking yourself is "do I know anyone who has come back?"

Big place, that delta. One could lose one's self. Then again, one might spot a pink dolphin.

Have a good evening my friend.

Greetings, on this Glorious Saturday.

Have no Fear, Capt.
It seems that there will be 3 boats and one is a powerboat.
I'll send you some charts and notes from other people who have done the trip and it seems that we will follow a pretty well-beaten path.

And anyway, if we dont come back we can always say it was our Destiny to be swallowed up by the tangled roots of the Mangrove Swamp of Life.

Sounds more Exotic than crab-grass, dont you think ?

None will go to waste.

Sounds like fun Pottery!

Thanks for the greeting GG! You too!

Bogon, Love me a good ham sammich!

Thanks for the tune Shep. Won't play from the desktop so will pull it up on the laptop later.

Goofy, Not enough cold at home? Had to go looking for more? Hope you are enjoying the trip!

RTLSNK, Glad you were able to pop in between naps! :o)

Mom came home from the Phys. Rehab. place this morning. Doing well. Thanks for the prayers! Going to head over to her place and visit in a bit. Taking Easter dinner to them tomorrow.

And a calm 63F with a slight chance of rain this fine Easter day.

Hope all have a blessed day.

I shall attempt to keep my posts, err, Easteresque and be mindful of a blessed occurrence 2013 years ago.

Haze burning off and blue skies peeking through.

95% complete on painting list.
It's a good day. I didn't fall off the ladder even once.

So, I found out something I didn't know today.
(thanks Palmettobug53)

Cats hate the smell of vinegar. Had to try it out, so I rubbed a little white vinegar on my hands, let it dry, and walked over to the cat to test it out. My hands would get about 6 inches from her face and she would recoil.

By this time tomorrow, everything I own will smell like salad dressing!!

Hi Rob, yeah, that last boomer threw me right out of
bed! LOL

After the family left I went to put the leg up on the
two big monster pillow shams around 8 PM for just a
little while and went out like a light bulb.

Not anymore. :)

Hope everyone had a great day, we sure did.
Looks like the big stuff went by South of Macon.

Found a new receipe for a ham glaze yesterday, is
really sweet, but wonderful. 1 cup Apple juice, 1 cup
Dark Brown Sugar, 1 cup pure Maple syrup. The last
30 minutes checker cut the ham and pour the glaze all
over the ham and cover with foil to keep it from
burning. YUM - toot sweet!!!

News Flash. Heat Wave strikes western Europe. Townsfolk awakened to the sight of a giant bright orb rising in the eastern sky. It has caused a heat wave. Temperatures are reported to be almost 2.5 C. Soon we will see Yankees strolling in shorts and golf shirts. Maybe even sandals. With the clear skies some of the 24 inch frost may even melt. Frozen nuts buried by the tree rats may thaw. Well that's all the earth shakin news from this quarter. That is as long as you are not on El Hierro. Vee working on de 2 cup of Joe and good morning to one and all.

Good Morning, Critters of The Ark.

And especially the Pyrate Queen !

Another hot and glaring morning. The kind that makes the eyes want to stay shut.

Sad to see Moe and Co. looking a bit bedraggled out there in the white stuff.
Yer supposed to bring them in, Snakeymon, and ply them with Brandy.
It's the Humane thing to do.
And while your'e at it, have some yourself. Then get up and dance on the table around that ham. And dont forget to chant "oonga boonga macarena" while you do it.
Best cure for legs that I ever did come across.

(actually, it's probably the two weeks in bed after the dance/prance that does the cure. But it's more fun this way )

:):))

...and on the home front.

My daughter finally decided on a color to paint the house.

In the meantime, I educated myself on Avocado trees.
She has a wonderful young healthy 10' Avocado tree already on the south side of house, but it's only like 8 years old and hasn't flowered yet. No, I refuse to try and graft a tree that size with a mature scion and risk losing it to whatever. It will fruit, it just needs time.
I went to the local mom and pop nursery this AM and found one about 7' tall that was grafted correctly as a seedling with a mature scion and has about 50 new avocados already fruiting on it, and planted that bad boy beside the grapefruits and oranges.
Yes, we have Avocados. Can't wait for my next trip down.
I'm ready for some fresh avocado cheese burgers and avocado dip creations.
Life is good.

So, I'm painting the house now. Painted the front this afternoon around brick and entryway. Should take maybe 3 days to finish between rums and watching the Jodi Arias trail. :)

BTW, young oranges make a great substitute for limes for the rum and Coke.

Yo Lord Pottery, that mountain pool looks awfully inviting. I'm thinking about sacrificing a trip to the keys to buy a plane ticket to your neighborhood. :)

Hey, watch out for that Red Bay disease. It is killing red bays in my area and is going to head for the avacados next. :(

Also, I think I have allergies to pollen or something... Nose is like a mini waterfall. Ugg... I also have a cough, which isn't too bad.

BTW guys, do you think Google is going crazy? They now have something called Google Nose, to where you can smell dirty diapers and wet dogs, vanilla, and other things... Sounds like that is eventually going to go wrong when someone types in fart and they get to smell one for the rest of the day... :-O Yuk... Well, I have to go, bbl. :D
