Welcome to The Ark

If you need to get away from all the "end of the world" hullabaloo, well, what better place to hide than an Ark?

Hang out, play some music, have a cookie, some eggnog, or maybe some grog. Be ready to celebrate that we're all still here!

The tutorial for the Youtube code generator is now in Post 7 and 8 of The Ark help files. The link to the generator is now in the right column in my links section here.

Please read the tutorial. It's really easy once you know what to and not to do.

Enjoy!

OH...Hey Pottery.
Was just over at Sandi's blog explaining about how you took the rain to England.

Just can't escape "the list" can you!
Strange that...

Yeah, strange how the list follows us about.
I need one of those 'list eradication devices' that I heard about one time.
But I gather that it means I will have to employ 42 people for 24 years, or something. And burn all the pens and paper in the house.

Pretty drastic stuff.

Morning 32 F here and no snow. Skies were clear last night. Helped put a chill in place. Right now the moisture is moving up the coast, the temps above are mostly below 32 and we wait. The birdies will clean out the worms in a flash Pott. It will be like ice cream. eh.

73 at the moment and a mix of gray and blue above. Rather breezy.

Ice cream for birds. Hmmm. Now he'll have issues with guano!

Okay party animals, anyone know how to get beer stains off ceilings? Maybe she won't notice...right!

If it's textured, I recommend bleach and a toothbrush, but only if you're sober! :)

Sending you a WU-mail...

Okay, since I can see you are all dying to know how I got beer on the ceiling...

Lets just say that from now on, all my experimental brewing projects will carbonate in a big igloo, not on top of the fridge.

A one liter amber plastic bottle, specifically designed for beer, rootbeer, and the like, decided to explode and become airborne this afternoon. Meant to put them in the fridge today, but got distracted by the younglings. Huge mess in the kitchen.

On the plus side, the honey-ale taste pretty good...even warm and post-launch. Will do the final analysis New Years Eve.

Not much rain today thankfully. Current temp 68 headed towards 48/50 for those who follow my forecast. NWS says 43 but I don't see that happening here. Still pretty windy.

Not supposed to be great for wind power here, but from this past year, thinking I'd have done well to have a windmill.

Hi Arkers!

Still dealing with a torn rotater cuff tendon in the right shoulder so typing on the keyboard and using the mouse with my left hand only is proving to be sort of funny. Spend a lot of time going back and correcting my spelling mistakes and mouse clicking errors. :)

40* here now heading down to 27 they say.

Did you ever wonder who "they" are?

I shall ponder this during nap time.

Beer on the ceiling, how interesting, I once had a
pancake on the kitchen ceiling. I was trying that trick
where you flip the entire pancake up and out of the
frying pan and catch it as it comes back down. It
stuck there for a minute with me standing under it
with the frying pan and nothing happened. Just as I
moved to get a ladder, down it came. Figures. :)

RTL,
This was not a pancake stuck to the ceiling. This was fermented beverage in a 20 ft radius. Actually, I didn't know how bad at first. Basically a bottle rocket loose in the kitchen!

Anyhow. All is well now and I need to get some sleep.
The nieces and nephew are at my mom's tonight but will require my attendance at first light.

Rest well. See you all tomorrow!

I was walking on a path to the Student Union Building at UBC and Art Garfunkel was coming toward me.
First reaction on my part was:
Hey! I know you! (did not say that)
Then I thought that might not be new and special to him besides being a lie - since I did not know him at all.
We passed each other politely.

Snake tip toes up the gangway of the Ark at 0313 AM
mumbling something about Raccoons on the back porch
again, checks around, everything secure, tip toes
back down the gangway mumbling something about cages
and dogs and boobytraps for little furry bandits.

Better not wake the Captain he mutters to himself
as he heads back to bed.

Slept most of yesterday's 24 - some kind of sneezey runny nose and burpy belly got me down. Now I'm back on watch. Can't sleep.
I did not see any raccoons on deck - I assume they sensed RTLSNK's mumbling presence earlier and decided to go to ground. 0108 PST

I'm warmer. 47 earlier, was 50 at 9 am. Not creeping up very fast. Still very windy which makes it worse than advertised.
If the short people want to fish again today, they're doing it from the dock without me.

Oh, and Good Morning! Happy Sunday!

Hope both YCD and RTL have a better day today!

Not quite t-shirt and shorts weather here, either, as it's now 31 after a morning low of 16!

Beer bottle rocket sounds like a mess; did you get the ceiling clean?

Hey Ylee!
Just wiped it down with a damp rag. If there is a stain, I can't see it. Ceiling due to be painted anyway.

The rest are resting peacefully in the refrigerator and there has been no further drama. May have been a not up to spec bottle.

Not quite beach weather here. 30 F this am after rain. Bed 0100 after all the guests went home and clean up supervised. Had 6 rug rats running around bent on devilment with hammers and playing the role of the Stay Puft man in ghost busters. Lots of stories with old and new friends of the ancients, kids and rats. Up at 0400 for squad call. The Z's driver door lock was blocked. Other side ok but the seat was tucked up for a five ft driver. Ran the heat high later and still no luck. Parked in the shelter of the driveway. Morning sun to 34 melted the frozen lock. Now 37 F with high wind warning. Some lows coming this week that will make Foxy wish she was in Key West.

One guest had an interesting photo journal called " Snowman in Hell " , a collection of photos and stories of Christmas in Vietnam by Doug Berg. Worth the price of admission. His page is 35. He spoke of one night with the Wolfhounds near Tay Ninh, as FO, the 155 Battery was in support of four missions. He noted that he had somehow constructed two intersecting streams of fire. Kind of like ghost busters but this is not a good thing to do.

Sounds like you need a vacation Goofy!
Wind has died down to a light breeze. Sun bright on the deck.
Can't complain.

One of the older nieces, a Florida girl, traveled to Maine to meet her boyfriends family this week. Reckon he'll be put on notice that should the relationship proceed, they will NOT be living in Maine!

Hi Arkers, I think I have this two finger typing down
pat now, getting a little faster, still making way too
many typos however. :)

SugarBear has three of her favorite programs running
now on her new laptop so she is much happier tonight
than she was yesterday. Hates the new Windows 8.

Don't remember the Fulda Gap Goofy. We started the
motorcycle tour in Munich, went through Austria,
then west through the northern Italian Alps, then
up through Switzerland, back to Austria, then Munich.
Two week trip. Motorcycle heaven!!!

Temp is supposed to drop to 27*F tonight and then
warm up again and rain.

Fortunately, old Rangers require long fuses to give them time to vacate the blast zone.

Shep is wakened by the commotion, grabs the firecracker, drops it through Pott's mail slot on his cabin door, (No, I don't know why he is the only one with a mail slot on his cabin door), and then runs like hell to join snake at Dunkin Donuts for fritters and coffee.

Justice or just plain ol' fun???

You pick.
