Welcome to The Ark

If you need to get away from all the "end of the world" hullabaloo, well, what better place to hide than an Ark?

Hang out, play some music, have a cookie, some eggnog, or maybe some grog. Be ready to celebrate that we're all still here!

The tutorial for the Youtube code generator is now in Post 7 and 8 of The Ark help files. The link to the generator is now in the right column in my links section here.

Please read the tutorial. It's really easy once you know what to and not to do.

Enjoy!

Well, since I just heard that our advisor is malfunctioning, I guess it's not worth the risk.

Oh, Hi 'Snake!
Slithered in while I was watching the vid, you did.

If you can't afford Pottery's new stove, I'm working on a poor boy's alternative. Tall, skinny pots. You can put 3-4 of them on one back burner.

Ouch, another Bob Sled, only this one was not made by Bob.

Don't think I am going to try that sport anytime soon. :)

Stoves with back burners, eh?

Why would anyone want their backs burned?

Sounds dread to me. Perhaps its time for Dr. Snake to
make another appointment for Pottery.
It seems that he
has his pots and pans mixed up. heh heh heh

Welcome back Shep.

I see Goofy is dreaming of warmer climes. Thanks for the tunes.

Thanks RTL. Last time Igor came aboard it took a crew of 6 a week to repair the gouges in the deck.

OH...and good morning!

Yeah, sorry about that, Igor said the wood on his
planet must be stronger than ours. He just can't grasp
the concept of "tip toe". At his best attempt it
sounded like clunk clunk clunk clunk.

Well its been cold up near Mt Van Hoevenberg this week. Say lows of (-) 27 there and (-) 31 F at Saranac Lake. But its training weather and here is an example of the Japanese equivalent of " Watch this, hold my beer."

Yeah the sunset was really nice last night.
Also didn't hurt that it was a few degrees warmer at sunset.

Brilliant Pottery.
I had been thinking along the same lines re:back burner shortage.

I've had to take stuff outside and sit it on the grill for similar reasons. Nice thing about the grill is that it has side burners, so good for things you aren't really putting on the back burner but need to set aside for a bit.

Good luck in the new venture.

Greetings !

I note that there are Things going on around here.
But I'm a little concerned about the Erstwhile Dr. Snake, who seems intent on becoming a Failed Entrepeneur, and who definitely needs a stove with more burners, especially at the back.

Me? I'm going into business too, supplying stoves with back-burners only. Rows and rows of them.
I see a Demand, coming up.

And that idea about doing research sitting about on beaches, boats, being served beverages by Ladies in Skimpy Outfits, and so on ?
Orca seems to have that down really good... And Sheph too, although he is yet to send any pics.

Oh well, I'm just sitting here, with a List to get done, in the middle of nowhere, by myself, and I cant even see the sea today because of the haze.

Which is probably a good thing too, because I have to save my strength for tomorrow.
It's Panorama semi-finals, and that always means that tomorrow will be a Good Day.

RTLSNK,
Do we have to wear kilts?
(btw: I didn't name names)

Goofy,
Sorry my friend. I had no idea that the fans in Trini were so strong. Pottery agreed to blow the heat from the kiln this way and my forecast for the next week is wonderful.

Didn't realize it would reach you.

Butterfly effect.

AH bartender take this silver bullet and give me a double of whatever he is having. Who he? Why of course the gentle man in post 927, or maybe 928 or perhaps that fellow in 929. On second thought give me back the bullet. Somehow that rascal Swamp did some hat dance and Rob's slush cast moved about 8 N and 8 E And is now decorating the roofs lawns sidewalks and streets of this fair boro. Gadzuks man be careful where you aim the fans.

I see that as usual my good name is being besmirched
by certain individuals whose own names are generally
displayed on the walls of the local Post Office.
(Pottery may not get that one Rob so explain it to him). :)

I meanwhile have been diligently working on a new and
exciting project. Yes, I know I was going to start a new business called
Macon Bacon which was placed on
the back burner for the new new business called I've
Got Worms which was placed on another burner for the
new new new business called Ranger Ricks Apple Fritters
but that was also placed on another burner
in order to start the new new new new really new
business called "Kilter Research Corporation".

A corporation of like minded individuals like ourselves
who can do research in far off exotic places trying
to find out why the world is so off-kilter. This will
of course require us to spend a lot of time on beaches
filled with beautiful women, the testing of the worlds
best Rums in order to establish a certain methodology,
and cruises on expensive yachts crewed by females of
some of the worlds best festval dance groups.

Applications for this new corporation and donations
for future cruises should be sent to my normal acct
in the Cayman Islands.

Personally, I think your advisor has signed up for some sort of dream research project and not told us.

That or someone is slipping something into his fritters.

Well, yes, I understand all that, but I will never get to restore the TransAm and Corvette, much less build a hovercraft if all my items keep getting shuffled to the bottom.

I think some basic mechanism of the list gets thrown off kilter once you have children. That wasn't in the manual!

Kilter..there's a good word.
Someone who fits you for a kilt?

Oh, Absolutely !

And yeah, I like 'kilter', but I thought it was as in "Well, you see Officer, I just up and kilter as she was annoying me something terrible".
Not that I would contemplate such activity you understand, but a Forensic Inspection of my List shows that there has been some Unauthorized Modification, recently.

I'm not at liberty to call names in this matter.
The possibility of Romantic Retribution is something I let go of, a long time ago. And naming names is a surefire way to bring it on.

My Legal Advisor will probably have something to say on this.
But I think he's having a nap..... Again.

Hmmm.
Seen those advertised.
I've got a DR push trimmer but it's not bothering me enough to walk in the mud to use it.

Maybe, though, you just gave me the perfect excuse to build that hovercraft I've always wanted.

Thanks Pottery!

Quite clever!

Yep, I've always thought it would be fun to build one too.
It's on my List, at Item 6864 (I'm on item 42 now) so I'll get around to it soon.

Actually, Time may be running out for me.....
"Continuing Negotiations" are proceeding quite well, and it looks like I will be Gainfully Employed come Feb.
This will mean that I live in the Hills, Mon-Fri, in the not too distant future.
Looking forward to that !

Odd little dances are Highly Recommended, you know, for all manner of things.

In fact, I have today incorporated a new business venture, called Odd Little Dances For Aged Reprobate Folks (OLDFARTS, for short) and I will be offering expensive classes in these Magnanimous Movements very shortly.
Send your Application to E. Fudd, along with $2.97 for a Guaranteed Acceptance.

More later.

Bah, to being in a rut.

Actually, some years ago I was faced with the same problem, all over the yard.
Investigated a hover-mower. Tried it out.
Brilliant! You can mow your lake with that.
There was a video.
I had one brought here for a demo., and it was great, but expensive.

Instead, I bought a weedwhacker and gave it to the guy who now uses it to cut my grass and other people's too.

Nice thing about the hover one is that it never was hard to push across wet ground, and there is never any load on the body, wheels, etc. Easy to push, pull, drag along sideways. Check it out.

Just thought I would stop by one last time before
I go horizontal, being up half the night does have
its drawbacks the next day. Sleeping at odd hours

cycle, right?

Either that or we just become zombies. Don't tell

. Wait a minute,
there is a full moon in a couple of days I think. :)

Who knows, might work.

I love a real wood fireplace, but this one is just
natural gas. Its non vented so all the heat comes out
into the living room so its nice and toasty fast. The
nice part is it is not electric so if the power goes,
as long as the gas company runs their diesel generators
to keep the gas pressure on the lines, we won't freeze.

Wonder whats up with Big Fish? 10 days and not a peep
out of them this year. You don't suppose they forgot
to take their laptop with them do you?
