but I was blind as a bat so there went that plan. Didn't stop
me from going to Jump School or Ranger School. :)
Hey Shep, that storm is heading your way now and it
still has a lot of red line in it, watch yourself.
No, forget that, watch the radar screen. :)
This one works.
Gotta luv Izzy.
:)
No, I went army.(just for spite)
Oh chit.
Better look outside/
It caught me buried in the utube racks.
:)
...thanx dude
Hey, Snake, remember these days. I was 20 in this picture.
I guess blind as a bat is a good thing if you're gonna make a living jumpin' outta planes. Can't see past the first step...no fear!
Guess that new mouse technique is working out good for you RTL!
Longest you've been on in weeks!
Appreciate you guys!
Back out for a bit...carry on.
ROFL, not only did we "look" young, we were skinny too!
I came out of Ranger School weighing 165 pounds, did
500 pushups and 500 situps every day, and could run 12
miles with a rucksack on my back. Never see those days
again. :)
the desk. Great idea you had!
I see the Bone Doc in the morning at 9 AM.
If he says when would you like the shoulder operated on
I'm going to say How about this afternoon? :)
getting really tired of this bad wing.
I don't even drive 12 miles at a time anymore.
Hey, Snake. Have you gotten this one yet.
"I bet you must have been good-looking when you were young". The first time I heard that, I knew it was all over.
Owwweeee!
That's gotta hurt!
:o)
No, but I don't get out much anymore. :)
But what does irritate me is when young people hold
doors open for me. They are being polite and that is
wonderful to see in this day and time. But you have
to stop yourself from saying: What? Do I look like I
can't open a door by myself? LOL
It DOES
I've been meaning to tell you........... :)
Now that is a funny line Grothar! LOL
Don't tell me, I am going to go pin one of my Ranger
Tabs on my Captain America PJ's and go to bed.:))
That deserves a LOL. Sleep well.
Nite guys!
Rest well.
Speaking of elbows and butts.
Youngest niece, the last little princess until the next generation is 9 now. :o(
When she was about 4, her family was visiting. Her mom had told her that it was time to come indoors as the mosquitoes were getting kinda thick. She tried her best to get uncle Rob to sneak outside with her.
"Your mommy says no." I told her.
"We can just crawl through the grass and all she will see is two butts!" she told me.
Did my very best not to laugh. Devious little mind after my own heart!
Same child who when we were watching 'Avatar' at her parent's house a couple years ago...she was sitting in my lap, as per usual, and I was worried that the movie might be a little intense for her...but who am I to say...I'm not her parent...so when the guy went into the Avatar body for the first time, I asked her..."Wouldn't it be cool to be big like him?"
She said, "No, I don't want to get big because then you wouldn't be able to carry me anymore!"
My heart melted...
Okay...Hood Out!
Maybe the fact that I can type a comment while listening to Clapton?
Rob:
Your grand daughter story made me wish I had paid more attention when they were young.
Special?
Mixed Nuts!
A lot of folks like them.
(although some are allergic)
I guess if you get just the right combination it's special!
'Specially if you wash it down with good music.
BTW...just to clarify, it's my niece.
Don't make me any older than I already am!
:o)
Hang in there buddy!
Just drippy rain here and windy.
Power went out for 1 second for some reason, which always wakes me up.
Did you know that the shell of the cashew is deadly?
A little something I picked up in my travels.
Yesterday, at 1300 hours, the temp in Macon was 73*.
It is now 38*. That is a heck of a drop in temp.
Appointment with the Bone Doc at 0900 hours this morning.
Still waiting to hear from Shep and Nadia and Ylee.
Coffee is ready.
Okay, so in your travels, you picked up a cashew shell.
What are you planning to do with it?
Morning Rob!
You don't have to be old to be a grandparent. Look at me I still only 39. LOL
Everyone have a great day!
Good to see you.
You're still a cute little bunny!
Say "Hi" to Vet for me.
little vague if you know what I mean. :)
Had to throw that cashew shell out, SugarBear was
afraid her cat might eat it. heh heh heh
Hope the Appt. with Dr. Frankenfurter goes well and you get some good news.
Time to get started I guess.
Will check in later for news from Goofy and Shep.
Heigh-Ho...
I see y'all had fun last night while I was safely snoring.
Just watched a vid on BBC with upsidedown trucks and stuff from Georgia.
Good to see that Snake did not blow away, blow up, blow hard, whatever.
Nice to see Gro loitering.
Could have done without the picture though.
I think of him as an Old Guy, in worn out socks.
I'm off to the City.
Need some switches for a kiln, and the Lady has a List........ to Starboard.
OK then.
I'll see if I can scan or photo them later, and send them to The Capt.
It will surely be fun to get some ideas from you all.
But I wonder if it will be considered "Foreign Intervention". We'll have to find another phrase. How about "Specialist Design Concepts from The Ark" ? I like that one better.
Little bit of rain. Good bit of brief wind gusts. 5 minutes later, she's gone.
...or freakin' intervention???
I've had those days also.
:))
Don't let her fool ya, Rob! She ain't seen 39 since Bush II! ;' )
As a matter of fact, neither have I, LOL!
Good luck, Snake!
Story in the British news about falling wind machines. Bolts apparently failed on a 150 footer. Design for 125-150 mph failed at 56 mph. Photo of ring base looked is if it was intact hence bolt failure. Cheap foreign steel, hydrogen embrittlement and or Charpy V notch impact likely causes assuming pullout wasn't the issue. Course loose nuts may figure in the equation. As you know many a big wheel has had a loose nut tightened by a little wench. Irony in story. UKMET office has been taking a beating on their seasonal forecasts, as well as busts on a shorter time scale. They are in the news trying to block development of two wind farms. Seems their radars overlook both sites and they want the deals killed. Last spring in a rain forecast, they predicted 1/2 to 1 in say but got 2-3 inches leaving the folks unprepared for floods and raining cats and dogs. After some investigation they determined false radar echoes due to a wind farm blocked signals from low level storms leading to the false reports.
Not unlike the turtle on the fence post; it didn't get there by itself.
:)
I just scroll down till I find a music video like Clapton's "She's Gone" and scroll on down to see what I type.
Looking forward to perusing Pottery's floor plan, elevations and building permit application.
Feel free. I'll check the inbox later.
Shep,
Broke apart down here and just 4 hours of blustery dribble. Sun finally came out though.
Goofy,
Saw the cat story on the news last night. Windmill story interesting. Radar issue is just a matter of not thinking things through. Throughout our industrial history there have been a whole lotta things learned the hard way. I guess we are still doing. Look how many automobile recalls & TSBs happen every year.
YCD,
Are you implying that some of us might be loose?
LOL
Glad you enjoy!
Ylee,
A gentleman lets a lady be whatever age she says she is. Makes the ladies happy and make life easier on the gentlemen.
Besides, have you seen her avatar? No way she's a day over 29!
Lots going on here today. Back later.
(and the other tunes as well)
Have to excuse myself this evening. Angie's dad is in the hospital. Some internal bleeding that they haven't been able to localize. He's stable and safe at this point, but thoughts and prayers appreciated. As you might expect, Angie is somewhat rattled and stressed. Will be attending to her.
Take good care, and if/when I get images, etc. from Pottingham, will post them.
-Hood out.
Prayers and Good Vibes on the way.
EMail pics sent, but no rush to do anything about that.
Take care, and Love to the Lady.
Prayers up for Angie's Dad and for the Captain.
Went to sleep at 8 PM, slept 6 hours, now what?
Coffee and Apple Fritters of course. :)
Maybe a game of solitare or two.
Well, fortunately for me, it didn't get anywhere near the advertized low temp of 36 last night. If it had, I'd likely still be hiding under the covers. Had to get up to take the trash out anyway. Hard to believe it's Friday already.
Angie says: "Thanks Guys!"
Have a few things to finish up this am, then I'll see what Pottery sent and act accordingly.
Enjoy the coffee.
Wait until that Physical Terrorist gets a hold of your bicep tendon. :)))
You'll be trading those fritters in for happy pills and fritters.
It's wonderful that they can just stretch that puppy back out instead of the robotic surgery option.
If it were me, I'd be outside pittlin' with light yard work with 800mg Motrin in my pocket, trying to get a jump on... the therapy experience.
Just don't pick up anything weighing more than 5 or 10 lbs...slowly.
:)
> )))"> :)
Got 10 pics from Pottery.
Going to go ahead and start a new blog.
This will take a little bit to upload everything, post, and copy his comments from the email.
Getting started now.
