Welcome to The Ark

If you need to get away from all the "end of the world" hullabaloo, well, what better place to hide than an Ark?

Hang out, play some music, have a cookie, some eggnog, or maybe some grog. Be ready to celebrate that we're all still here!

The tutorial for the Youtube code generator is now in Post 7 and 8 of The Ark help files. The link to the generator is now in the right column in my links section here.

Please read the tutorial. It's really easy once you know what to and not to do.

Enjoy!

Good afternoon folks!
A beautiful Saturday here. Spent the am showing Angie how all the gizmos and adjustments on the car work. Got her phone paired with the car via bluetooth and showed her how to operate that. Got rid of the tacky dealer stickers etc.

Awaiting an excuse to take it out and exercise it a bit. Reckon she's gonna want to go grocery shopping first though.

So ?
What did she get?
Or is it bad form to ask ?

What time is it? Why, nap time of course!

I just love Saturdays!

Oh.

I once went to Sveeden. So I am perfectly Qualified to Interview them. For their work experience and whatnot.
At no cost at all, you know?

My pleasure, I'm sure.

What a coincidence! Bought an '03 Spyder for my Dau! Took it for a test drive, offered him cash, saved $1200! Not bad, IMO! Nice car, too!

I didn't know that you spoke Greek.
I speak a little Latin myself. :)

Well you and Lady Pott can converse at length in Latin.
She has a couple of boyfriends already, and they get together quite frequently, amongst the shrubbery, looking up at the trees, and they speak in Latin. Very long words too, and they often ague about whatever it is.....

Rather strange behaviour if you ask me.

Good Morning.

Do you ever get the feeling that your friends are losing their marbles and there is nothing you can do about it ? Seeing it happen can be really pretty Tragic, filled with Pathos and unexpected Drama.

I guess I'll just sit back and enjoy the ride, as they say. Theres nothing I can do about it anyway.

I refer to post 590 of course.

Paper bag
A man walks into a bar with a paper bag. He sits down and places the bag on the counter. The bartender walks up and asks what's in the bag.

The man reaches into the bag and pulls out a little man, about one foot high and sets him on the counter. He reaches back into the bag and pulls out a small piano, setting it on the counter as well. He reaches into the bag once again and pulls out a tiny piano bench, which he places in front of the piano.

The little man sits down at the piano and starts playing a beautiful piece by Mozart! 'Where on earth did you get that?' says the bartender.

The man responds by reaching into the paper bag. This time he pulls out a magic lamp. He hands it to the bartender and says: 'Here. Rub it.'

So the bartender rubs the lamp, and suddenly there's a gust of smoke and a beautiful genie is standing before him. 'I will grant you one wish. Just ! one wish~~ each person is only allowed one!'

The bartender gets real excited. Without hesitating he says, 'I want a million bucks!' A few moments later, a duck walks into the bar. It is soon followed by another duck, then another. pretty soon, the entire bar is filled with ducks and they keep coming!

The bartender turns to the man and says, 'Y'know, I think your genie's a little deaf. I asked for a million bucks, not a million ducks.'

'Tell me about it!!' says the man, 'do you really think I asked for a 12 pianist.'

Hey Arkers! Speaking of Food.
I have a great new idea. Forget the Worm Business.
I'm going into the Apple Fritter Business.
Gonna call it: "Snakes Fritters", catchy, eh?

OK, picture this: The Swedish Bikini Team is standing
there holding two of those cheerleader Pom Poms. The
music starts and they all start singing my advertising
jingle and dancing all around bouncing their pom poms
around:

GIMME AN "F", GIMME AN "R", GIMME AN "I" "T" "T",
GIMME AN "E", GIMME AN "R" GIMME AN F R I T T E R,
FRITTERS, FRITTERS, TRY SNAKES FRITTERS,
RAH!!! RAH!!! RAH!!!

Pretty cool, eh?

Going to make a fortune at this I can tell already.

Some day you guys can tell your friends, you know,
we knew Snake when he was just a worm farmer. :)

Well, Shep.
I guess it's like a good pair of boots. Sometimes you gotta try a few on to get the right fit.

She drove a few. I drove a couple of the ones we liked best.
We told the salesman what we were willing to do and took one to (late) lunch while he crunched the numbers.

Ended up walking away with a deal we felt good about on a pretty nice little ride. The long day part came when 4 deals closed at the same time. Ours was cut and dried, straight forward, but there were a couple lengthy cases ahead in line.

Still. worth the wait and M'lady very happy!
All's well that ends well...

ROFL
:)))

Kinda like conch.
That's why they chop them up into little pieces and add them to soups and fritters for flavoring.
The only meat on a turtle worth eating IMHO is the one fork full of tender meat under the neck. They just aren't worth the trouble.

Turtles make better gator bait than human food.
I try to keep them thinned out in my ponds...they eat way too many fish.

In regards to Mud Fish; If you can catch a small one, split the tail and toss him back in the water on a stringer so he can bleed out first. They fry up quite tasty.

Hey Pottery!

Mom had her first bionic hip implant before she was 50.
Has bad osteoarthritis and had polio as a child. That resulted in her having a curvature of the spine that caused premature wear on one hip.

This time, it seems there is a bone fracture where one of the sockets attaches to the pelvis.

Tomorrow, I'm just gonna go along and let Angie do what she wants, re:car. Told her she can get a new Camaro if she want's but she's a pretty practical girl. Wants something with good mileage. She wants me to go along to keep the dealers honest.

Easy job that...:o)

Old car doesn't owe us a thing. Bought it for $3K with 30k miles on it. Now has nearly 190k on it. I've put maybe $1k into it in parts. Hope we find another that good.

Bummer.

Hi Arkers! Just getting back from dinner at the kids house, stuffed like a Christmas Turkey.

Sorry to hear about your Mom's hip surgery, have heard from people here that once you get one you get more of them down the road. Think I will skip that one.

Congrats to Angie on the new car! Love those new camaros.

Ski - I understand the "hooked" part.
Don't think I want to know about the "cooked" part. :)
Could be caused by the intake of too much flat beer.

Put a string of 26 hooks #2 in the river baited with chx. Boom, mud fish cat fish and a turtle. Did it again but some had bloody marshmellows and others bacon as bait, Boom nice cat fish. Put a strip of chx on my ballywho rod with a float and boom big azz turtle not the right kind but great fight.

So the turtle we got on the string was the right kind soft shell, no stripes on his head, threw him on the bonfire, not bad if you were out in the booneys and starving.

I think I will stick with saltwater fare.

On side note don't drink that beer I was drinking last night, to much sugar or someting.

I guess the plan for tomorrow is to take her to pick out a new one. Not really something I wanted to do this month and might cause an issue with my Spring break plans.

Why is it they never have a $5k cash back deal going on when I need one?

OH...and Mom needs a 4th hip surgery.

Greetings.

People are hitting the roads this day, I see.
Well, just to keep on topic, I am the Designated Driver today. Lady Pott will visit Ancient Person (who is doing OK but doesn't know where she is or why, most of the time), and I have to renew my driving permit, drop this, collect that, pay the following and generally drive around trying to navigate the streets of Spot-of-Pain while staying out of traffic.

Looks like it will be drier today. Early this morning the temps plummeted to about 73F. Almost froze to death, I did.
