Hey Foxx!
You are welcome. You are QMBFPOP after all!
Jitters understandable. Hang in there!
If you need to vent and jittery frustration, well, that's what friends and blogs are for!

Pottery,
I don't know what you guys call Roosters that are noisy at 5 am.
Around here I call them lunch!

First.

for the morning, that is.

Roosters are being very loud, and one seems to have a sore-throat.

Pottery,
Good!
Have a great night man!

Shep,
"grasshopper rights" dispute

That is funny!

Lots of rain and light show tonight.
Nice and cool out though. Good sleeping weather.

The fast moving trough (finally moving) is causing some issues with formerly abused vertebrae. Can't take the laptop outside because it's too damp, can't stand to sit at this desk any longer, so I'll call it a night now.

Good news is dryer air will be moving in shortly, which will make me feel a lot better.

So...Will decided it's to wet to hunt any more tonight and has gone to roost. Think I'll do the same in short order.

Take good care and rest well folks!
See ya tomorrow!
-Hood Out.

Avoiding Wounds, checking in Capt :))

Heck of a light show last night to the east.

The crew that was suppose to come this morning and trim the power line out back called and said they couldn't make it.
A tornado touched down about 25 m east of me last night.
2500 people out of power.

I told him to take his time and not to bring that bad mojo to my house :)

Wow snakers, sounds like Dr Frankiepoo is saving the worst for last :(
Waiting for the "last" check to clear or what?

You have my sympathy.....but my dad can still beat your dad. :)))

Rob, nice owl.
Mine out back even respond to the Gomer Pyle hoot-hootie-hoooo at the height of hell-raising season :)

Watched an Eagle in the back pasture chase a large Cattle Egret out of the field this morning. He treed him in a big oak (smart egret)and flew straight to back of the pasture and landed on the ground. Apparently they were having a "grasshopper rights" dispute. That's the first time I've ever seen an Eagle hopping across the ground following the cows. Too funny. :))

Previously-Wounded, checking in Capt.

All's well, all over my body, since Saturday.
That's why you did not hear anything. I had to catch-up on all the stuff and whatnot that was pending.

About to head for the airport. Lady Pott's sister and Hubby (from UK) arrive at 4:30. For 2 weeks.
Going to be a bit Hectic around here.
He's good with his hands and knows how to wield a hammer and stuff.
So I'll keep him busy....

2 more?

Does the term Glutton for Punishment mean anything to you?
Oh...wait a minute. That was a dumb question...You're a Ranger.

Glad you're okay except for the "normal".

Hey...I think that's the first time anyone ever called you "Normal". Hmmmm.

Walking wounded one checking in, had a long talk with the surgeon this morning about the leg, he did a complete sonagram of the left leg and everything is fine, no blood clots, no clogged veins at all. All the pain, swelling, and brusing is all a "normal" side effect of the vein striping operation. Oh Great! LOL

Have two more to go, one more on the left leg next Tues the 16th, and then a long one on the right leg on Nov 5th. Looks like I'll be hobbling in to vote the next day!

Told me to start walking and exercising the leg more and more each day so I came home and worked in the garden for an hour. :)

Time to put the leg up now though!

See you later!

I'm "still tryin'". Gotta go load the pickup with sundry tools and wander in to one daughter's place. She wants to build stairs and ramps down a steep face of old fill and garbage earlier owners tipped off the edge of the lawn.

Good mornin' Rob:
Sounds like a "Pre-Op" ward around here.
My only useful experience would be hospital maintenance in case the back up Gen set switchgear won't take over in a power outage.
When the big dog, Jupiter, pulled me into the air chasing a raccoon I came down without one toe nail and possible fractures in the small bones (phalanges to you guys) of the left foot.
Since I had planned to work the next day I cut a yogurt container in half (after washing it) and duct taped it on the toe of the sandles. When I eventually got to the clinic for an X-ray Tloml came back to look for me and reception said:
"Is he the guy with the Yogurt container on his foot?"

Yep, lots of good things come with living off the beaten path.
(although the population of this county will go up by 50% next month, at which point I'll be counting the days until April)

Funny, barred owls have a reputation of being very vocal, but this guy has barely made a sound. Reckon he's trying to keep his private hangout a secret.

I think it was Saturday night, he hadn't responded to my imitation of a great horned except to turn his head and look at me funny from a distance. I have speakers on the deck that connect to the laptop. Played the recording of a barred owl from the wikipedia page and he went ballistic...literally.

Swooped down towards the deck, thought he was gonna land on me before he realized it was a trick and went back to his perch.

Watching and listening to all the critters beats a movie or ballet any day.

Yep, Will is a barred owl.

I love those guys.
I have a "Owl choir" behind my house nightly.

Between them and the Hawks and racoons, a snake doesn't stand a chance around here.

Supposed to be 52 tonight and 48 tomorrow night. Wow.

OK, medical report: will see the Dr. 0930 Monday morning, will know more then. Right now, I am not a happy camper, was supposed to be healed by now, it is not working, back on the meds.

He better have some good answers for me.

Looking forward to the progress reports.
I'm assuming that the batteries will go on the rectangular framework in the back. Then of course, you will need a cargo deck above them.

Yep, Will is a barred owl.

Never could get a good enough view of him in the dark.
He's decided to hang out where I can see him better today but still doesn't want humans getting too close. Did manage to get a postable pic though.
(note: he is actually a lot darker than this in real life. Had to mess the the brightness so that you could see clearly as it was about 30 feet away and in shadow.)

Some debate whether he is a William or a Wilhelmina. I'm not going to catch it and flip it over to check.

I've never seen one on the property, maybe because it's not uncommon to have great horned owls here. Great horned owls are larger and they eat barred owls. Anyway, kinda cool to have it hang out here the past few days.

Greetings Pottery!
Am on the back deck where I have been spending the last couple hours sipping coffee and watching the world wake up.

Now the humans are beginning to stir, which means boat motors and such. Ah well, was nice to have it to myself for a while.

Will settled into a maple tree at the edge of the lake. Perhaps I can sneak down and get a picture of him later.

I suspect that he is actually not a juvenile Great Horned after all, but a barred owl. Don't see them here much.

For my dear friends RTLSNK and SugarBear.

This song always makes me think of you two!
(Gee, I wonder why?)

I wanna take you with me
to life with no more yesterdays
we can start again awake and so excited
and change the way we always push
we always push

I'll open up and be your parachute
and I'll never let you down
so open up and be my human angel
and we'll only hit the ground
running

and when the world gets sharp and tries to cut you down to size
and makes you feel like giving in
oh, I will stay, I will rain, I will wash the words and pain away
and I will chase away the way we push
the way we pull
you're beautiful

I'll open up and be your parachute
and I'll never let you down
so open up and be my human angel
and we'll only hit the ground
running

and if it feels like we might drop
it will stop
so don't look down
it wouldn't be the same without you
this life is too good to give up on

I'll open up and be your parachute
and I'll never let you down
so open up and be my human angel
and we'll only hit the ground
and we're gonna hit the ground
running

Hot, overcast, still, no rain, some distant rumbles, and threats from above.

Spent the morning installing trim on corners, window surrounds etc in The Studio. Nice morning.
