Thanks for posting it.
Don't even want to talk about today.
Tonight though, got to watch a hawk eat a water snake.
Now Will is here swooping around and about.
So...I guess in the end, it's all good.
At least it's not raining.
Can't tell you what I wished for...it's a secret!
Angie goes in late tomorrow.
So, I'll sign off early tonight.
God bless!
The hawk came back about 20 minutes ago.
All of a sudden, the owl comes swooping in out of nowhere and chased the hawk away, hawk screaming all the while.
Hawk came back after a few minutes. Owl did it again and chased him further. Squirrels are having a fit!
Sounds real nice.
Here, we are under sunny sky and some haze, but looking forward to the coming of 98L, soon.
Looks to be a wet one.
I've been watching that and hoping that it will fill your cisterns then go away.
Me too!
Have a Grand Day, and may your socks never get holes.
:):))
Life on the sunny side of the street.
:)
...gotta luv it
Considering that el cappymon only wears socks to weddings and such...his one pair should last a while longer.
:)
Yeah...I do.
Kind of educational. The hawk is faster, but the owl has better acceleration off the line. A hawk can easily outmaneuver an owl in open air, but the owl can get around between the trees better and has better brakes. Never really thought about any of that before.
I can understand the hawk's concern. When the owl flares, he looks humongous!
Pottery,
You as well.
Yeah, I'm saving them for February!
Yes, it is I, RSBSR reporting in.
(Ranger Sponge Bob Snakerdoodles Rick)
Didn't think I saw that did ya Shep? :)
58*F in Macon, Dense Fog everywhere.
Slept late, taking the day off, SugarBear says a local
nursey is having a sale on Barberrys today.
What is a barberry you ask? Well, I'm glad you asked that question.
Its a purple plant thingie. See, I know stuff!
Back later.
LOLOL.
Is he planning to tie the knot, you think?
He mentions February....
February is when it gets cold enough to wear shoes!
Got clouds?
The owl is probably telling the hawk those are his squirrels!
Must've been a cool sight to see!
I hope he wears at least three socks...... :)
Yeah, I realised that you know. :):))
Got clouds and occasional thunder, mostly in the hills north of here.
Models show the 'centre' of 98 moving north of us.
I'm in two minds....
would love the rain, but the visitors would prefer the overcast but drier conditions.
Maybe a compromise is in order.
one on his head, yes ?
They probably don't want to hear any more about my socks.
Ylee,
Yeah, the owl is apparently pretty territorial.
The hawk came back a couple more times then left for a while.
About an hour later, when the owl was dozing, hawk quietly slipped back and found a place where he was hidden from view, but still had a good view to watch for more snakes.
Of course, if the pair of bald eagles that visited last winter show up again they will both get evicted!
LOL
Pottery,
I had thought about your guests. Just tell them if they don't want rain, not to use too much water!
Exactly! :)
LOL, they have just retreated to their sleeping-quarters, after some very nice grilled fish with all the trimmings.
I was showing them the Impending Tempest, and they are not too pleased at the possibility of rain for a couple of days.
My own thinking is that it all appears to be consolidating to the north, and will probably follow the forecast path up through the Islands.
I'm hoping for some decent showers though !
A little thunder earlier, but no rain here.
Yeah, I was hoping that you would just catch the edge of it or maybe the tail, getting just enough rain without any really bad weather. Anyway...that's what we'll shoot for.
Been a long day here, will probably turn in shortly.
Have a great night!
Isn't that a coastline sumwhar'?
:)
Hope you're well!!
That's Barbary Coast you Floridian you! :)
This is a Crimson Pygmy Barberry:
I think they had some problems with pirates there.
Arrrghhh!
I promise to check that out tomorrow!
Congrats!
Oh...Hey 'Snake!
Okay...off for a few hours.
Take good care!
PS...that plant looks like sea weed!
You have been busy.
Some really beautiful photos in the gallery too!
Thanks!
Glad your back is feeling better!
Good afternoon Goofy!
Wow, really doesn't sound like a good dancing on the pier weather either. Hope the forecast improves!
Beautiful day here too. 3 red headed woodpeckers acting all rowdy in the back yard this afternoon.
Why is there a red circle over your head?
Just tell your UK friends that the rain was on backorder.
Yeah....
Just showed them the maps and whatnot.
They are rather Impressed.
News from Town says that they had heavy rain up their ends, but just a few slight showers here today. Thundered though.
We've been busy having fun, and tomorrow is more of the same.
Slept late again, took the day off again, even from the blog!
I could get used to this, sort of like vacation. :)
Had a serious talk with Dr. Frankenstein today,
cancelled the next "procedure" for next Tuesday,
cancelled the "procedure" for November the 5th,
told him I would reschedule the next procedure when
the pain, swelling, and brusing stops on the leg he
worked on last week! He tells me today that the reason
it is taking so long for this one to heal up is the
blood thinner he put me on after the last operation.
I asked him why he didn't tell me about that problem
with healing before now and he said that is one of the
things his nurse is supposed to brief me on before the
procedure even begins. Oops, must have forgotten that part. :)
Well, fun on your end is the main thing.
Take good care.
Meatloaf was greeted with approval.
Owl caught a couple nice bullfrogs and whatnot and seems to be settled for the night.
Debate is recording on the DVR...will watch tomorrow.
All is well on my end.
Have a great night folks!
Good call 'Snake.
Heal up from one procedure before undertaking the next.
ROFL :)))
It's a "purple plant thingy" now, but wait until winter and all that snow you asked Orca for gets there and all the leaves drop, you're gonna be calling it the "purple thorn bush from Hell".
But, they would make a great raccoon fence.
:)
I'm sure that won't be the case with the purple thingy...:o)
Overcast and south winds here today. No rain yet....
Waiting to see what happens next.
LLC is pinned west of St.Lucia which is surprising considering.
But these big, disorganised systems tend to have their centre jump about a bit.
HHunters go in this afternoon. Wonder what they'll find?
1.5" rain in B'dos this morning. Winds Southerly there and here too.
Think Shep may be on to something. Looks nice .We used something like this. The LRT is EB on the curb line fo Essex St in JC. 2ft strip 4 ft sidewalk and 2 ft strip next to curb. We used a pyracantha http://www.usna.usda.gov/Newintro/mohave.pdf to keep people and pets away from the equipment that passed within 25 clicks per hour. Have to go see how it stood up to the city life.
Yes, TGIF!
I think Goofy has the best plan for the day. Have been eating some great burritos every day for lunch from the pork roast I did last weekend.
Kinda make me feel like a cave man. Never measured the CO, just watch the amount and color of the smoke and peek at the thermometer once in a while.
LOL
Of course, if the neighborhood noses are pointing up, you must be doing it right!
(sorry to folks in different time zones, but hey, you got to sleep later)
For those of you that aren't here over the weekend, have a good one! For the rest of you, see you later tonight or in the morning.
